Hi,

I=E2=80=99ve just been through the draft and see a few things which I believ=
e need correcting before adoption. Also, there are some obvious all be it mi=
nor errors which should be corrected at the same time.

> 3.3.4=20
> ...

> A map of of location id to Location objects,...

Presumably =E2=80=9C A map of location ids to Location objects,...=E2=80=9D?=

And similarly in section 3.3.5=20

> A map of of link id to Link objects,...

Also, in section 3.3.5

> *rel*: "String"(optional, defaults to "related")

=E2=80=9Crelated=E2=80=9D doesn=E2=80=99t seem to be defined.

> The features supported by locations with rel-type "virtual" are:

Looks like a cut & paste error from 3.3.4.

> *properties*: "String[String|null]|null"(optional, defaults to "null") Ext=
ra metadata stored by a client about a link.

And not stored by the server?

Section 3.4.5. *rsvpResponse*:

> * "declined": The participant may attend.=20
> * "tentative": The participant will not attend.

Will cause all sorts of confusion...

> 4.2.7

> *timestamp*: "UTCDate" Describes the latest time when the participant upda=
ted her progress.

their rather than her?

Section 5.4 - =E2=80=9Ckeywords=E2=80=9D =E2=80=9CCorresponds to the COLOR p=
roperty...=E2=80=9D doesn=E2=80=99t sound right to me. Presumably this shoul=
d refer to =E2=80=9Ccolor=E2=80=9D and =E2=80=9Ckeywords=E2=80=9D relate to =E2=
=80=9CCATEGORIES=E2=80=9D?

Also, I still notice a bias towards events, even though the draft discusses b=
oth task and event objects:

> *rsvpResponse*:
> ...
> "accepted": The participant will attend.

Is better put as =E2=80=9CThe participant will participate.=E2=80=9D

Similarly the description of =E2=80=9Cowner=E2=80=9D, =E2=80=9Cattendee=E2=80=
=9D and =E2=80=9Cchair=E2=80=9D roles (3.4.5) only refer to events when pres=
umably they may apply to tasks?

Presumably 3.5.1 useDefaultAlerts (plus a few others) apply to tasks as well=
 as events.

I=E2=80=99m assuming that the whole topic of statuses and comments will be a=
ddressed by a separate draft and won=E2=80=99t comment on it further here.

Cheers

Adrian

Thanks for the review feedback. Expect an updated draft by tomorrow.

Just to be clear: Any properties listed in section 3 (JSCalendar
properties) apply to both tasks and events. Any object-type specific
properties are described in section 4. Looking at your feedback I
realize we still haven't got rid of the event-bias in all descriptions
in section 3 and I will revisit the section to change that.
Cheers,
Robert

I've just uploaded draft version 03 [1], which fixes typos and rephrases
descriptions. It does not introduce new or alter existing property
semantics.
The complete list of changes is available on Github [2]

Cheers,
Robert

Notes
-----
The definition of icalbody shows that calendar properties precede components. Some components may contains sub-components. For those that may:

The definition of eventc (section 3.6.1 - Event Component) also shows that properties precede sub-components.

The definition of todoc (section 3.6.2 - To-Do Component) also shows that properties precede sub-components.

However, the definition of timezonec (section 3.6.5 - Time Zone Component) shows that properties and sub-components may be intermingled. The corrected text assumes this was not intended.

--------------------------------------
You may review the report below and at:
http://www.rfc-editor.org/errata/eid5215

--------------------------------------
Type: Technical
Reported by: Richard Smith <richard@dyalog.com>

Section: 3.8.5.1

Original Text
-------------
Purpose: This property defines the list of DATE-TIME exceptions for
recurring events, to-dos, journal entries, or time zone
   definitions.

...

Conformance: This property can be specified in recurring "VEVENT",
"VTODO", and "VJOURNAL" calendar components as well as in the
"STANDARD" and "DAYLIGHT" sub-components of the "VTIMEZONE"
   calendar component.

Corrected Text
--------------
Purpose: This property defines the list of DATE-TIME exceptions for
recurring events, to-dos or journal entries.

...

Conformance: This property can be specified in recurring "VEVENT",
   "VTODO", and "VJOURNAL" calendar components.

Notes
-----
Section 3.8.5.1 describes Exception Date-Times (EXDATE).

tzprop (section 3.6.5) does not allow EXDATE.

(Of course, the problem could be that 3.6.5 should include EXDATE.)
