1st ACM Workshop on Research Reproducibility=20
In conjunction with ACM SIGCOMM 2017, Los Angeles, USA
August 21, 2017

=
http://conferences.sigcomm.org/sigcomm/2017/workshop-reproducibility.html =
<http://conferences.sigcomm.org/sigcomm/2017/workshop-reproducibility.html=
>

** CALL FOR PAPERS **

Ensuring the reproducibility of results is essential in experimental =
sciences. Unfortunately,=20
as highlighted recently, a large proportion of research results are =
hardly, if not at all,=20
reproducible, raising reasonable doubts on the research lead by =
scientists around the=20
world.

To address this important issue, the ACM has introduced a new policy on =
result and artifact=20
review and badging. The policy defines clearly the terminology to be =
used to assess=20
results and artifacts but does not specify the review process.

The goal of the workshop is to craft recommendations on research results =
and artifacts=20
review process for conferences and journals of the SIGCOMM interest =
group. To achieve=20
this goal, the workshop is structured as a forum where presenters will =
discuss with=20
attendees their experience in reviewing research results and artifacts.

To prepare the discussion authors are requested to submit discussions =
around papers=20
published in the various ACM conference in 2016/2017, with experimental =
results and=20
artifacts. Submitted papers to the workshop will provide an extended =
abstract with either=20
feedback on the actual review of papers in these conferences or =
proposals of methods=20
to review papers, from a results and artifact perspective. To emulate =
discussions before=20
but also after the workshop, an open virtual forum is set in place to =
exchange ideas
and experiences: http://reproducibility.lisp-lab.org =
<http://reproducibility.lisp-lab.org/>

Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

=E2=80=93 Reviewing experience;
=E2=80=93 Enabling environments and tools for reproducibility;
=E2=80=93 Methods and tools to anonymize datasets;
=E2=80=93 Testbeds for reproducible research;
=E2=80=93 Platforms to share experimental results and artifacts.

The workshop will try to answer questions rose by the ACM such as:

=E2=80=93 Should reviews occur before or after acceptance of a paper?
=E2=80=93 How many reviewers should there be?
=E2=80=93 Should the reviewers be anonymous, or should they be allowed =
to interact openly with the authors?
=E2=80=93 How should artifacts be packaged for review?
=E2=80=93 What specific metrics should be used to assess quality?

Submissions must be original unpublished work. Submitted papers must be =
at most three (3) pages=20
long, including all figures, tables, references, and appendices in =
two-column 10pt ACM format.=20
Papers must include authors names and affiliations for peer reviewing by =
the PC. Authors are
 invited to follow the terminology defined by the ACM Result and =
Artifact Review and Badging=20
publication policy =
(https://www.acm.org/publications/policies/artifact-review-badging =
<https://www.acm.org/publications/policies/artifact-review-badging>). =
Authors of=20
accepted papers are expected to present their papers at the workshop. =
The outcomes of the=20
workshop will be published in ACM Computer Communication Review (CCR).

To guarantee freedom to attend to everyone, remote attendance will be =
possible for the workshop.

Hi MAPRG folks (and Luigi :) ),

While we all might support some CfP postings on this list, we want to
ensure that the respective event is in scope and specifically relevant
for maprg.

If you would like to share a CfP to maprg participants, send it to us
<maprg-chairs@ietf.org> with an explanation how this is related to
work in maprg. Please consider this policy for further postings.

Thanks!
Mirja and Dave

Subject: [Maprg] CFP - ACM Reproducibility 2017 (ACM SIGCOMM Workshop)
To: maprg@irtf.org

1st ACM Workshop on Research Reproducibility
In conjunction with ACM SIGCOMM 2017, Los Angeles, USA
August 21, 2017

http://conferences.sigcomm.org/sigcomm/2017/workshop-reproducibility.html

** CALL FOR PAPERS **

Ensuring the reproducibility of results is essential in experimental
sciences. Unfortunately,
as highlighted recently, a large proportion of research results are
hardly, if not at all,
reproducible, raising reasonable doubts on the research lead by
scientists around the
world.

To address this important issue, the ACM has introduced a new policy
on result and artifact
review and badging. The policy defines clearly the terminology to be
used to assess
results and artifacts but does not specify the review process.

The goal of the workshop is to craft recommendations on research
results and artifacts
review process for conferences and journals of the SIGCOMM interest
group. To achieve
this goal, the workshop is structured as a forum where presenters will
discuss with
attendees their experience in reviewing research results and artifacts.

To prepare the discussion authors are requested to submit discussions
around papers
published in the various ACM conference in 2016/2017, with
experimental results and
artifacts. Submitted papers to the workshop will provide an extended
abstract with either
feedback on the actual review of papers in these conferences or
proposals of methods
to review papers, from a results and artifact perspective. To emulate
discussions before
but also after the workshop, an open virtual forum is set in place to
exchange ideas
and experiences: http://reproducibility.lisp-lab.org

Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

=E2=80=93 Reviewing experience;
=E2=80=93 Enabling environments and tools for reproducibility;
=E2=80=93 Methods and tools to anonymize datasets;
=E2=80=93 Testbeds for reproducible research;
=E2=80=93 Platforms to share experimental results and artifacts.

The workshop will try to answer questions rose by the ACM such as:

=E2=80=93 Should reviews occur before or after acceptance of a paper?
=E2=80=93 How many reviewers should there be?
=E2=80=93 Should the reviewers be anonymous, or should they be allowed to
interact openly with the authors?
=E2=80=93 How should artifacts be packaged for review?
=E2=80=93 What specific metrics should be used to assess quality?

Submissions must be original unpublished work. Submitted papers must
be at most three (3) pages
long, including all figures, tables, references, and appendices in
two-column 10pt ACM format.
Papers must include authors names and affiliations for peer reviewing
by the PC. Authors are
 invited to follow the terminology defined by the ACM Result and
Artifact Review and Badging
publication policy
(https://www.acm.org/publications/policies/artifact-review-badging).
Authors of
accepted papers are expected to present their papers at the workshop.
The outcomes of the
workshop will be published in ACM Computer Communication Review (CCR).

To guarantee freedom to attend to everyone, remote attendance will be
possible for the workshop.

** IMPORTANT DATES **

o January 25, 2017: Opening of the discussion forum and submission system
o March 24, 2017: Paper submissions deadline
o April 28, 2017: Paper acceptance notification
o May 26, 2017: Camera ready due

** PAPER SUBMISSION **

Paper registration and submission can be done via HotCRP at:

The IRTF Measurement and Analysis for Protocols Research Group<br>
(maprg) will have its next meeting at the IETF-98, March 26-31, 2017,<br>
in Chigaco.<br>
<br>
We would like to invite you to send a short abstract (200-300 words) to<br>
the maprg chairs (<a href=3D"mailto:maprg-chairs@ietf.org" target=3D"_blank=
">maprg-chairs@ietf.org</a>) describing a contribution<br>
you are willing to present at the next meeting. The contribution can<br>
be published or new (measurement) work in the scope of the research<br>
group. Please see the charter for questions on scope:<br>

The deadline for this call for contributions is:<br>
<br>
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0March 3, 2017.<br>
<br>
The chairs will work to assemble an agenda for the meeting based on<br>
received submissions taking into consideration the group&#39;s scope,<br>
common themes, and/or relevance to currently existing IETF work.<br>
<br>
Similar as in the last meeting, we will prioritize presentation on<br>
actual measurement results and new measurement techniques, compared<br>
to introduction of planned measurement campaigns and systems. Further,<br>
we would like to especially invite people to provide short presentations<br=

on updated measurements that have been presented at previous meetings.<br>
<br>
Since meeting time will be reserved for questions, comments, and<br>
discussion, contributions may also be invited as presentations in<br>
subsequent meetings.<br>
<br>
Please share this call with other interested people or groups!<br>
<br>
Please don&#39;t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!<br>
