Hi MAPRG folks,

I've updated our wiki page to contain links to the video recording of
each of the individual talks from last week's meeting:

   https://trac.tools.ietf.org/group/irtf/trac/wiki/map

Thanks much to the contributors who took the time to prepare their work for us.

Dave

P.S. The Passive and Active Measurement Conference, PAM 2017, was last week.
The program includes a Fiebig et al. paper about the topic he
presented on at our meeting, plus some other papers from recent MAP
participants and some IPv6 works:

HI all,

please find attached a call for papers for a workshop on mobile network =
measurements. We just extended the deadline by a week, so you have ten =
more days to go. I know that=E2=80=99s tight but maybe you have =
something that is mostly ready for submission. The workshop is colocated =
with TMA, a conference on traffic measurements, but is only focussed on =
mobile network, and for many protocols we standardize in the IETF mobile =
networks are especially challenging environment. Regarding this scope, =
you may consider if and how your measurement methodology is applicable =
to mobile network or provide measurement insights how mobile networks =
differ or are expected to different from fixed network. Looking forward =
to your contribution! And let me know if you have any further questions!

Mirja

> =20
> Network measurement provides essential input for operations and =
diagnostics as well as a basis for the network design and development of =
protocols in today=E2=80=99s complex networks. Over the last few =
decades, mobile networks have become a vital piece of the modern =
communications infrastructure, underpinning many aspects of modern =
society. However, measurement is challenging for mobile networks, =
because the mobile ecosystem is complex with many different components =
required to work together in a dynamic environment where channel =
conditions constantly change and users move. The workshop will focus on =
active and passive measurement methods and results for mobile networks.
> =20
> The objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers and =
industry, especially mobile operators and businesses whose operations =
depend on mobile networks, for discussion of measured network effects as =
well as optimization and advancement of measurement tools and methods =
for mobile environments. We solicit contributions on the =
state-of-the-art, results of ongoing research, open issues, trends and =
new ideas.

> + Measurements of end-to-end performance metrics in mobile broadband =
networks, especially for 3G/4G

last few decades, mobile networks have become a vital piece of the =
modern communications infrastructure, underpinning many aspects of =
modern society. However, measurement is challenging for mobile networks, =
because the mobile ecosystem is complex with many different components =
required to work together in a dynamic environment where channel =
conditions constantly change and users move. The workshop will focus on =
active and passive measurement methods and results for mobile =
networks.<o:p class=3D""></o:p></div><div style=3D"margin: 0cm 0cm =

Hi group!

We finally uploaded the meeting minutes:

https://www.ietf.org/proceedings/98/minutes/minutes-98-maprg-00

Thanks a lot to Wes Eddy as minute taker! You really did a great job!

If you have been at the mic in the maprg session, please check the minutes
and let us know if you have any corrections. There are also two names
missing, so it would be great if those people could let us know who they are.

Sorry for posting these late! And thanks to all, especially the speakers, for
a great and interesting meeting!

Dave and Mirja

Hi,
When I spoke to the group last November, I didn't have any open source
to share.
I now have open source code for the non-proprietary round trip delay
measurement tool
I use (the delay variation stuff is proprietary). Just put it on github:

https://github.com/pollere/pping

Hope it's useful,

	Kathie
