Hi all,

I don't think there is an official session for PPSP this time in Prague,
please correct me if I am wrong.

- is there anything further the WG needs to do, or are we ready to
conclude now?

- are there any people going to IETF93 that would be interested in a
casual meetup if there is no official session?

I am particularly interested in discussing how we can turn PPSP into a
deployed & widely used protocol.

NB due to my 3rd child arriving end of May, I am very constrained with
travel and will likely only attend 1 or 2 days.

Cheers
Dave Cottlehuber

The Peer-to-Peer Streaming Peer Protocol (PPSPP) is a protocol for
disseminating the same content to a group of interested parties in a
streaming fashion. PPSPP supports streaming of both prerecorded (on-
demand) and live audio/video content. It is based on the peer-to-
peer paradigm, where clients consuming the content are put on equal
footing with the servers initially providing the content, to create a
system where everyone can potentially provide upload bandwidth. It
has been designed to provide short time-till-playback for the end
user and to prevent disruption of the streams by malicious peers.
PPSPP has also been designed to be flexible and extensible. It can
use different mechanisms to optimize peer uploading, prevent
freeriding, and work with different peer discovery schemes
(centralized trackers or Distributed Hash Tables). It supports
multiple methods for content integrity protection and chunk
addressing. Designed as a generic protocol that can run on top of
various transport protocols, it currently runs on top of UDP using
Low Extra Delay Background Transport (LEDBAT) for congestion control.

This document is a product of the Peer to Peer Streaming Protocol Working Group of the IETF.

This is now a Proposed Standard.

STANDARDS TRACK: This document specifies an Internet Standards Track
protocol for the Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions
for improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the Official
Internet Protocol Standards (https://www.rfc-editor.org/standards) for the
standardization state and status of this protocol. Distribution of this
memo is unlimited.

Hi all,

It seems there are enough interested people to organise a breakout
session
in Prague.

@all I suggest we arrange a meet up / dinner etc on Monday evening
anyway.
Please reply offline if you are interested, I'll organise something
 sensible.

@Yunfei / @Martin how can I request a breakout room (if this is even
possible)
for the WG?

If this falls under a WG session, I can contact spacereq@ietf.org but I
would
need Area Director's "rubber stamp" via email.

Just let me know what's appropriate & I'll tackle the paperwork.

NB note I'll be available Monday & Tuesday only.

A+
Dave

Hey folks!

Here's our meeting room details, late on *Monday* evening:

Request: ietf-mtg-000434
Meeting Name: PPSP side meeting
Assigned Room: Karlin III
Assigned Date: 07/20/2015
Assigned Start Time: 20:00:00
Assigned End Time: 22:00:00

Given the late hour we have 2 options:

1. find somewhere close to eat beforehand together

2. be efficient with our meeting and finish earlier and eat afterwards

I haven't had too many replies back wrt dinner & given the timing we
won't need to book. I have 2 places bookmarked & will organise this
as soon as we agree on options above.

I'm offline / travelling until Monday morning, may the Internet Be With
You!

MfG/Thanks
Dave
