I=92m afraid I destroyed the evidence here, but before I sent the below =
request and it was acted on,

	tools,ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-lwig-coap-00

showed draft-kovatsch-lwig-coap in the list of versions, but if you =
clicked on the diff2 link there you got an error message from the =
rfcdiff tool (apparently about a missing url1). So there was some =
knowledge in tools that this was kind of a bit like a replaced-by, but =
the knowledge wasn=92t consistently acted upon (and, e.g., it wasn=92t =
visible in the WG page).

The reason I note this is

1) The fact that draft-kovatsch-lwig-coap was in the list of versions =
almost convinced me not to send the below request; and

2) The bad diff2 link certainly qualifies as a bug.

I=92m not arguing that guessed replaced-by information shouldn=92t be =
shown, just that it should be qualified as such (and that links offered =
should not lead to an error message).

Gr=FC=DFe, Carsten

Hi Carsten,

Please don't use the tools discussion list for bug reports. It's meant
to be a discussion list, and it's much more likely that I see bug reports=

directly and can act on them in a timely manner if you send them to eithe=
r
  henrik@levkowetz.com=20
or
  webmaster@tools.ietf.org
or use the instructions for bug reporting which is in the email footer
of this list.

I'll reply to the bug report itself off-list.

Regards,

	Henrik

Given that xml2rfc uses this domain to fetch critical data over the
network, it seems like we should get this working with https.

i note that the cert actually matches if i use the domain name
xml2rfc.tools.ietf.org, but the web server still doesn't provide the
data under https (it only provides the data via http).

xml2rfc fetches this data over the network and uses it directly, which
creates a fairly large attack surface for the tool. Using cleartext
http instead of https expands the attack surface for xml2rfc to the
entire network path :/

can we use https for this? I'd be fine with the slightly longer
hostname xml2rfc.tools.ietf.org if it meant we got to use https.

Yes, I know. No disagreement at all. I'm simply a bit overwhelmed with
things that need to be taken care of. I'll get there.

Best regards,

More exactly, the server presents a certificate with "Common name:
*.tools.ietf.org", which of course, doesn't match xml2rfc.ietf.org.

You can see this with
http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=xml2rfc.ietf.org

Dear all,

Not sure if this was discussed already...

A nice workflow improvement would be a button from the tracker to trac
For example,
     from
http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-radext-radius-fragmentation/
     to
http://trac.tools.ietf.org/wg/radext/trac/query?status=closed&component=radius-fragmentation

Background info: I strongly suggest to my WGs to document their open issues.

Regards, Benoit

Dear all,

http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-vanderstok-core-comi/

Regards, Benoit

    Internal Server Error.

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your
request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a
script used to generate the requested page. In case this was an overload
problem or other temporary error, you may want to try again in a little
while.

A failure report with details about what happened has been sent to the
server administrators. It would be helpful if you would file a bug
report with additional information at the IETF database issue tracker
<http://trac.tools.ietf.org/tools/ietfdb/newticket>, too.

Interestingly, firefox auto-upgraded to version 31, and fails.
IE and Chrome work fine.

Weird.

Benoit

I was going to say your computer has started your holiday before you,
but I ran into a problem with a draft during DANE:

http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-gilmore-dane-rawkeys/

but the adopted draft did show up:

http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-dane-rawkeys/

also, this one failed:

http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ogud-dane-vocabulary/

(this was in Chrome).

Coudl this be the new datatracker version just rolled out?

There was an issue with the new datatracker release, so we just rolled =
back to the previous release and all should be well now.
