I should know this but I don't: is it possible to set up
a wiki for pre-WG discussions (with the option that it
morphs into a WG wiki if the WG is approved)?

I tried to edit a wiki page on tools.ietf.org [1], and oddly, the page
kept logging me out. When I viewed the page, my email address
appeared instead of the login link at the top, but when I clicked
"Edit", it switches back to show the login link, and says I'm not
authorized. Or sometimes it lets me through to the edit screen, then
logs me out when I try to submit the changes.

I've had a few reports of similar cases, but haven't managed to get a clue
as to where the problem lies. Based on earlier reports, it seems to
predominantly occur with Safari as client. Which browser were you using?

Best regards,

Greetings. On the main tools page, under "WG Subversion Repositories", =
it says:

Some IETF Working Groups have subversion repositories set up, to =
facilitate cooperative editing and change tracking. To find the =
repository of a WG, please go to the WG status page and follow the link =
which says 'Svn' in the top horizontal menubar. If there is no such =
link, the WG doesn't have a registered issue tracker. In order to check =
out a document from the repository, find the svn url to it, then use:=20
=E2=80=83svn co <document-url>

Its the creation of an svn repo really linked to having a Trac instance =
for the WG? Or do all WGs get an svn repo?

Taking DKG's role for a moment...

These produce http:// URIs from https:// requests when redirecting
(e.g., from draft-ietf-foo to draft-ietf-foo-07).

In order of preference, could these either:

1. include an 's' in all the schemes (it's not quite HSTS, but it's
still an improvement)

2. copy the scheme from the request

It showed up on tools.ietf.org about an hour after posting.

A useful enhancement is for the 404 processor to double check to see if
this is a new document before reporting such the 404 Not Found error. If
it finds it, it initiates an immediate update for that document.

Should this be added to the code sprint's list of items?

No, I'm looking at implementing a notify-on-change model as a lower-
bandwidth, lower-latency alternative.

Ack. I've found the issue with the frequent updates -- should
be fixed now.
