Tim, after I sent the reminder earlier this week, I got a trickle of respon=
ses from CAs. But there's no response yet from any browser or web server ve=
ndor. If any of you are on this email list, please make it a priority.

And I'm a little concerned that I've gotten zero response from Apache. I in=
itially asked for someone just to come forward and tell me that they would =
fill out the survey, but I've heard nothing. Ben Laurie, are there any arms=
you can twist to get someone or some group to step up? Given Apache's mark=
et share, it's critical that we have their participation.

-Rick

Peter, I sent everyone a Word and PDF document, expecting that they can eit=
her edit the Word doc or copy the PDF into whatever text editor they wanted=
to use. I'll take the answers in any format.

I think Tim intended the wiki page to just serve as a reference, not as a f=
illable form.

I would draw your attention to this wg charter, which is likely to be in
external review soon enough. I would very much like the feedback and
expertise from some of the members of this community.

Joel - This project seems a great way to address one of the main criticisms=
of the Web PKI trust model; that all the CAs must act in a trustworthy man=
ner, no matter how many there may be or how poorly resourced some of them m=
ay be.

If I've understood correctly, the project will be incomplete until there ex=
ists an effective way for clients, acting in the auditor capacity, to compa=
re their versions of logs. Without that, the need for blind trust is not e=
liminated entirely.

Of all the attempts we have seen to address the trust model problem, this p=
roject seems to me to hold the most promise.

All the best. Tim.

At least the Word doc is workable with LibreOffice. Not the best tool, I
admit.
