Hi,

Does anyone know how to get the "agentxConnTransportDomain" object of

Thanks,

Yes. It is also possible to register instances with the same OID but
in different contexts.

It is possible. There are some mibs, e.g. RFC 2564, that have
a fairly strong dependency on subagents having the ability
to do this. It requires giving some thought to how index
values are assigned both during the design of the MIB as
well as in the implementation of the subagents.

Yes, that is expressly provided for in AgentX.

There is no difference between registering instances of an object and
registering entire rows, a row just being a group of object instances.
AgentX supports registering a range of object identifiers to facilitate
registering rows of a table.

See RFC 2741 section 7.1.4.2 for a discussion and some examples.

One possible issue is knowing what index values to use when registering instances.

An index allocation service is part of AgentX, and again this is discussed
in the section mentioned above.

Hope this helps.

	1.) Yes, the device is compliant. There is no requirement for
community names to be changeable in RFC1157.

	2.) Community names should not be used for security, since they are
transmitted in the clear.

	3.) Please permit me to point you towards the comp.protocols.snmp
newsgroup, and its FAQ, available at http://www.faqs.org, as good resources
for basic SNMP information.

	4.) Please don't send HTML to mailing lists and newsgroups.

	Hope this helps,

Dear Sir, Sorry for my question, I = have some=20 problems regarding to
SNMP. The current RFC related with SNMP are RFC1157,1123,1156 I have studied
RFC1157. There is no = mention about=20 security of SNMP community name. Is
the general standard = specified=20 that "the community name" have to be
changable? I ordered some model of = access servers=20 but the community
name is not configurable. It's fixed. The vendor said that it's complied =
standard RFC1157=20 already. Is it true? Thanks in advanced. Jumpot
Phuriatakul.

AgentX++beta is now available for download from
http://www.fock.de/agent++

AgentX++ is freely available (source code) for internal and
inter operability testing uses only. It is a C++ API which
requires AGENT++v3.4/SNMP++.

The implementation of the AgentX protocol is nearly complete,
however there are the following issues left to do:

TODO LIST
---------

* PING PDU
  Implemented, but not used.

* INDEX_ALLOCATE/INDEX_DEALLOCATE PDUs
  Not implemented yet.

* Timeouts
  The master and the sub agent do not currently handle
  tardy responses.

* Send CLOSE-PDU to all sub agents when master agent is stopped.

* Documentation.

Regards,
Frank Fock
