But the uni-based document says that everything with a plen=0 is an
SSM address, right?

So the documents wouldn't be quite consistent even if SSM says FF3X::/32.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Multicast-Address Allocation Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Dynamic Allocation Guidelines for IPv6 Multicast
                          Addresses
	Author(s)	: B. Haberman
	Filename	: draft-ietf-malloc-ipv6-guide-04.txt
	Pages : 7
	Date : 12-Oct-01

This document specifies guidelines that must be implemented by any
entity responsible for allocating IPv6 multicast addresses. This
includes, but is not limited to, any documents or entities wishing
to assign permanent IPv6 multicast addresses, allocate dynamic IPv6
multicast addresses, and define permanent IPv6 multicast group
identifiers. The purpose of these guidelines is to reduce the
probability of IPv6 multicast address collision, not only at the
IPv6 layer, but also at the link-layer of media that encode portions
of the IP layer address into the MAC layer address.

A URL for this Internet-Draft is:
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-malloc-ipv6-guide-04.txt

To remove yourself from the IETF Announcement list, send a message to
ietf-announce-request with the word unsubscribe in the body of the message.

Internet-Drafts are also available by anonymous FTP. Login with the username
"anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address. After logging in,
type "cd internet-drafts" and then
	"get draft-ietf-malloc-ipv6-guide-04.txt".

A list of Internet-Drafts directories can be found in
http://www.ietf.org/shadow.html
or ftp://ftp.ietf.org/ietf/1shadow-sites.txt

Internet-Drafts can also be obtained by e-mail.

Send a message to:
	mailserv@ietf.org.
In the body type:
	"FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ietf-malloc-ipv6-guide-04.txt".

NOTE:	The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
	how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.

This is a reminder, sent out once a month, about your ietf.org mailing
list memberships. It includes your subscription info and how to use
it to change it or unsubscribe from a list.

You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or
configuration, including unsubscribing, setting digest-style delivery
or disabling delivery altogether (e.g., for a vacation), and so on.

In addition to the URL interfaces, you can also use email to make such
changes. For more info, send a message to the '-request' address of
the list (for example, malloc-request@ietf.org) containing just the
word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be sent to
you with instructions.

If you have questions, problems, comments, etc, send them to
mailman-owner@ietf.org. Thanks!

Few months the malloc ML was temporary moved to malloc@ietf.org due
to technical problems with malloc@catarina.usc.edu, and there was
last call pending right before IETF.
Then there was the idea to move the ML permanently to the IETF site,
but it didn't happen; apart of that it seems difficult to break
traditions of using the old ML address.

Anyway, I completely forgot about malloc@ietf.org until I got that
automatic email today about my membership there (see below). So if
you have received a similar email, please ignore it. In few days I
will remove completely that list, so you don't have to do anything
about it.
