A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Network-Based Mobility Extensions Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Mapping PMIPv6 QoS Procedures with WLAN QoS procedures
        Authors : John Kaippallimalil
                          Rajesh Pazhyannur
                          Parviz Yegani
	Filename : draft-ietf-netext-pmip-qos-wifi-05.txt
	Pages : 20
	Date : 2015-02-03

Abstract:
This document provides guidelines for achieving end to end QoS in a
PMIPv6 domain where the access network is based on IEEE 802.11.
RFC 7222 describes QoS negotiation between a MAG and LMA in a PMIPv6
mobility domain. The negotiated QoS parameters can be used for QoS
policing and marking of packets to enforce QoS differentiation on the
path between the MAG and LMA. IEEE 802.11-2012, WMM-AC describes
methods for QoS negotiation between a Wi-Fi Station (MN in PMIPv6
terminology) and an Access Point. This document provides a mapping
between the above two sets of QoS procedures and the associated QoS
parameters. This document is intended to be used as a companion
document to RFC 7222 to enable implementation of end to end QoS.

This is an OpenPGP/MIME signed message (RFC 4880 and 3156)

All,
I have completed my AD Evaluation of
draft-ietf-netext-pmip-qos-wifi as a part of the publication process. I
have a few points that I would like to discuss before moving this
document into IETF Last Call...

* The reference to RFC 2119 needs cleaning up. The Normative References
section tags the document as [RFC 2119], but section 1.1 refers to it as
[RFC2119].

* The Introduction uses several acronyms without expansion. Notionally,
this seems to be because the acronyms are expanded in section 1.3. I
would suggest avoiding the use of the acronyms until after section 1.3.
The Introduction should just use the expanded terms.

* Definitions

     - Do the definitions need to use the 2119 keywords?

     - For simplicity, I would move section 1.3 ahead of section 1.2.

* Section 2 uses "(in decreasing order)". The context derived from the
next sentence indicates that is in decreasing order of priority. I
would state that explicitly.

* Section 3.1.1

     - Step 1 seems to require the AP/MAG to do DPI if TCLAS is not
present. Does that imply that the AP/MAG must have application layer
gateway support for each app used by the MN? If so, that could have
scalability and usability implications. May be worth mentioning.

     - In Step 2, what is the AP/MAG to do if the TCLAS is not present
(when WMM-AC is used)? Does it construct one via the ALG discussed above=
?

* Section 3.1.2

     - This is the first mention of a policy server and there is no
description or reference of what the policy server does or how it is
expected to interact with these QoS mechanisms. At a minimum, there
should be something in the Definitions that describes this function.

     - What is the rationale for the order of steps? I could very
easily see the order being 1, 3, 4, 2. Are there corner cases that
should be discussed if the original order is not followed?

* Section 3.2 seems like an attempt to cover all possible scenarios when
it may not be needed. Can a scenario be described where the network
would originate the QoS signaling?

* Figure 5 is never referenced in the text.

Regards,
Brian

Ok.

Ok.

I guess I didn't ask my question as clearly as I wanted. The
definitions currently have 2119 keywords (albeit in lower-case) and I
was curious if they needed to be there in order for them to be correct.
I do not see a need to make them upper-case 2119 keywords, just trying
to avoid the inevitable comment during IESG review as to whether the
lower-case usage was meant to comply with 2119 definitions.

Ok.

Ok.

>=20

The above is fine with me. Is ALG the correct term to describe what is
being done here? I could envision DPI also being a correct way of doing
this, just want to make sure a future reader clearly understands what
needs to be implemented.

>=20

Same point as the previous comment. Is ALG the correct term or is it
really DPI? I don't know the correct answer and the text is fuzzy
enough to need some work.

These all look good.

Ok.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Network-Based Mobility Extensions Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Extensions to the PMIPv6 Access Network Identifier Option
        Authors : Rajesh S. Pazhyannur
                          Sebastian Speicher
                          Sri Gundavelli
                          Jouni Korhonen
                          John Kaippallimalil
	Filename : draft-ietf-netext-ani-location-08.txt
	Pages : 12
	Date : 2015-02-11

Abstract:
Access Network Identifier (ANI) Mobility option was introduced in
Access Network Identifier Option for Proxy Mobile IPv6 (RFC 6757).
This enables a Mobility Access Gateway (MAG) to convey identifiers
like network identifier, geolocation, and operator identifier. This
specification extends the Access Network Identifier mobility option
with sub options to carry civic location and MAG group Identifier.
This specification also defines an ANI Update-Timer sub option that
determines when and how often the ANI option will be updated.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Network-Based Mobility Extensions Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Mapping PMIPv6 QoS Procedures with WLAN QoS procedures
        Authors : John Kaippallimalil
                          Rajesh Pazhyannur
                          Parviz Yegani
	Filename : draft-ietf-netext-pmip-qos-wifi-06.txt
	Pages : 21
	Date : 2015-02-11

Abstract:
This document provides guidelines for achieving end to end Quality-
of-Service (QoS) in a Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) domain where the
access network is based on IEEE 802.11. RFC 7222 describes QoS
negotiation between a Mobility Access Gateway (MAG) and Local
Mobility Anchor (LMA) in a PMIPv6 mobility domain. The negotiated QoS
parameters can be used for QoS policing and marking of packets to
enforce QoS differentiation on the path between the MAG and LMA. IEEE
   802.11-2012, Wi-Fi Multimedia - Admission Control (WMM-AC) describes
methods for QoS negotiation between a Wi-Fi Station (MN in PMIPv6
terminology) and an Access Point. This document provides a mapping
between the above two sets of QoS procedures and the associated QoS
parameters. This document is intended to be used as a companion
document to RFC 7222 to enable implementation of end to end QoS.

The IESG has received a request from the Network-Based Mobility
Extensions WG (netext) to consider the following document:
- 'Mapping PMIPv6 QoS Procedures with WLAN QoS procedures'
  <draft-ietf-netext-pmip-qos-wifi-06.txt> as Informational RFC

The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits
final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the
ietf@ietf.org mailing lists by 2015-02-26. Exceptionally, comments may be
sent to iesg@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the
beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting.

Abstract

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Network-Based Mobility Extensions Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Proxy Mobile IPv6 Extensions to Support Flow Mobility
        Author : Carlos J. Bernardos
	Filename : draft-ietf-netext-pmipv6-flowmob-12.txt
	Pages : 20
	Date : 2015-02-18

Abstract:
Proxy Mobile IPv6 allows a mobile node to connect to the same Proxy
Mobile IPv6 domain through different interfaces. This document
describes extensions to the Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol that are
required to support network based flow mobility over multiple
   physical interfaces.

The extensions described in this document consist on the operations
performed by the local mobility anchor and the mobile access gateway
to manage the prefixes assigned to the different interfaces of the
mobile node, as well as how the forwarding policies are handled by
the network to ensure consistent flow mobility management.

With Wi-Fi emerging as a crucial access network for mobile service
providers, it has become important to provide functions commonly
available in 3G and 4G networks in Wi-Fi access networks as well.
Such functions include Access Point Name (APN) Selection, multiple
Packet Data Network (PDN) connections, and seamless mobility between
Wi-Fi and 3G/4G networks.

The EAP Authentication and Key Agreement (EAP-AKA), and EAP-AKA',
protocol is required for mobile devices to access the mobile Evolved
Packet Core (EPC) via Wi-Fi networks. This document defines a few
new EAP attributes to enable the above-mentioned functions in such
networks. The attributes are exchanged between a client (such as a
Mobile Node (MN)) and its network counterpart (such as an
Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) server) in the
service provider's infrastructure.

This document is a product of the Network-Based Mobility Extensions Working Group of the IETF.
