Hi,

Back at the Philadelphia NMRG meeting (March 2008), I announced that I
like to step down as NMRG chair and that I am looking for volunteers
to take over responsibility for the NMRG by becoming co-chairs. Since
then, it has been relatively quiet on the NMRG list, even though we
had two interesting NetFlow/IPFIX related meetings in October 2008 and
in July 2010.

So here is second attempt to find people who are interested in taking
over some responsibility for the NMRG. Please consider volunteering if
you believe the NMRG has been a valuable resource in the past for
you. I am more than happy to provide guidance during the transition
phase in case someone feels not too familiar with IETF/IRTF
procedures etc.

If you want to volunteer - or you happen to know good candidates, you
can either contact me or directly the IRTF chair, Aaron Falk, who can
be reached at <irtf-chair@irtf.org>.

[Apologies for possibly receiving multiple copies of this mail]

   Call for Presentations
4th Workshop on the Usage of Netflow/IPFIX in Network Management
   (27th NMRG meeting)
   March 26, 2012, Paris, France
(Monday, second day of the 83rd IETF meeting in Paris)

Flow-based approaches are used in various areas of network management today,
such as link monitoring, accounting, and security. As in the previous years,
the goal of this workshop is to be a place where researchers, operators and
manufacturers can exchange and discuss their experiences and ideas in the
usage of Netflow/IPFIX in network management.
Topics of interest are new applications of flows in the above mentioned and
other areas, practical experiences, recent developments, as well as related
topics such as:
  - flow processing and storage techniques
  - learning and classification techniques
  - visualization of flow data
  - software projects and tools

We want the workshop to be an opportunity for people to exchange and discuss
their experiences and ideas. Presentations typically last around 20 minutes,
and are followed by discussion rounds.
To propose a presentation, please send a short abstract (15 lines) to
   Ramin Sadre, r.sadre@utwente.nl
   University of Twente
before
   January 25th, 2012.

Hi,

are you really scheduling this to run against the IETF schedule???
that seems a bad idea.
The IETF does not schedule to avoid conflicts with NMRG, so we could
end up with the ipfix WG scheduled on the same day as your workshop.

I recommend scheduling this for the weekend preceding or following
IETF, not during IETF week.
Sunday is a bad day because IESG and IAB have meetings most of the
Sunday preceding IETF.
Friday afternoon has been successful in the past, but the IESG and IAB
now meet Friday afternoons, and there are quite a few ipfix-interested
people nominated for IESG and IAB positions, so this would probably
not be a good idea. (nominees include Dan Romascanu, Juergen
Schoenwaelder, Benoit Claise,
