Dear all,
We have published a new Internet draft concerning a set of Information Elements to export location information of a device using IPFIX protocol flows.
It is available at:
TXT version: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-irtf-nmrg-location-ipfix-00.txt
HTML version: http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-irtf-nmrg-location-ipfix-00
Abstract:
This document defines a set of Information Elements for IP Flow
Information Export (IPFIX) protocol to represent location information
of any device (mobile or not) acting as an IPFIX flow exporter. The
specified Information Elements support geodetic and civic location
data.

We would be very appreciative of any feedback on this specification.
Many thanks, and we look forwards to hearing your comments,
Abdelkader Lahmadi, Olivier Festor

Geopriv

This is an extension to IPFIX out of the IRTF (?) that's informational
(no biggie), and fully references our efforts over the years in Georpiv
(see section 2), yet... (wait for it)... they believe including privacy
and security considerations within this extension to the protocol is out
of scope for this extension, thus aren't necessary to address.

I'd like to ask our chairs and ADs (Robert) to look into this please.

James
