Dear tools team,

One thing happened recently on the Dime WG tools page. We had a huge
number of issues on a document draft-docdt-dime-ovli that was a WG (by
mistake) document´.. Now that the document is finally gone, all the
issues put into that are also "gone". I can find the open issues from
the issue tracker and would like to re-assign them to the proper
document. However, the real WG document in question is not known to the
issue tracker so I cannot do that. The document I refer here is
draft-ietf-dime-ovli.

Hi Daniel,

I've fixed these in a recent commit; should be part of the next release.

Dear tools team,=20

A question from my side:

The PPSP WG chairs/doc shepherd request publication for two documents:
1) https://ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-ppsp-peer-protocol
2) https://ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-ppsp-survey/

However, none of them showed-up on my personal rooster. I did manually =
start iesg processing for 1). But I didn=92t get any notice about the =
draft being requested for publication, which is annoying.

But in the old version of the datatracker (approx 3. weeks ago) a =
submission to the IESG for publication would automatically show up in my =
rooster.=20

Is this intentionally?

Thanks for your ongoing efforts!

  Martin

Hi,

I am not sure whether the tools-discuss list is the right list for this=
bug report, but I have found some issues with the bibxml3 files (i.e. =
http://xml.resource.org/public/rfc/bibxml3/):

1. The date of many entries does not correspond to the date of the docu=
ment. For example, https://xml.resource.org/public/rfc/bibxml3/referenc=
e.I-D.dreibholz-tsvwg-sctpsocket-sqinfo.xml has the entry
"<date month=3D"January" day=3D"4" year=3D"2014"/>". However, the corre=
sponding I-D http://www.ietf.org/id/draft-dreibholz-tsvwg-sctpsocket-sq=
info-07.txt is from January 5.

May it be possible that the bibxml3 generator stores the date of the I-=
D submission instead of the date included in the document?

This is probably no time zone problem. For example, the date in https:/=
/xml.resource.org/public/rfc/bibxml3/reference.I-D.ietf-rserpool-comp.x=
ml differs from the draft https://tools.ietf.org/id/draft-ietf-rserpool=
=2Dcomp-11.txt by five days.

2. Some bibxml3 files do not include all authors. For example, https://=
xml.resource.org/public/rfc/bibxml3/reference.I-D.ietf-rserpool-comp.xm=
l contains just a single author while the corresponding draft https://t=
ools.ietf.org/id/draft-ietf-rserpool-comp-11.txt has five authors. This=
 is a major bug.

Hi,

I'm not sure whose code this is, but there's an issue with the
way the third author has been extracted from the draft in
the announcement below. In the draft itself, due to some
error in the XML, that author is listed by first name only:

   Qiong
   China Telecom
   No.118, Xizhimennei Street
   Beijing 100035
   P. R. China

   Email: sunqiong@ctbri.com.cn

The same issue occurred in the "Confirm submission" message
but not in the "New Version" message.

  Brian

Has that release happened yet? I just got another http:// URL in a
draft submission confirmation. Sorry if this comes across as a nag; i
don't know what the release schedules are like for the datatracker and
related tools. If you want to point me to documentation about release
planning for these things, i'll happily read it.

Thanks for your work on this,

Hi Lars

On 2014-04-29 16:54 Eggert, Lars said the following:
> Something else that doesn't seem to work is setting REMOTE_USER. And trying to log in with my login and password from the live system doesn't work with the database dump.

In the database dump, all passwords have been set to 'password', overwriting
the live datatracker information.

Best regards,

	Henrik

I cannot reproduce this. If you are able to reproduce it, could
you go to https://tools.ietf.org/server and let me know how it
identifies itself? (THere are multiple servers with A and AAAA
DNS entries, so having the server name and/or IP address helps a lot).

Best regards,

Hi Paul,

This is weird. Both by inspection of what's in the file system,
and by explicitly going to https://cabernet.tools.ietf.org/, I
get a good certificate (expires 2014-12-01). Did you grab the
cert below at the same time as you grabbed the data at
https://tools.ietf.org/server, or earlier?

	Henrik

Earlier, inherently. That is, I resolved the URL in a browser; it =
complained about the cert. I captured the cert from the complaint window =
and said to temporarily trust it, and then got to the screen with the =
data.

Why don't you just go to the file system of each of the n servers and =
look at the cert directly? It's clearly coming from somewhere. The fact =
that you can't find it easily indicates a deeper problem with the =
synchronization.

In the first line of my message above, I said '...by inspection of what's in
the file system ...'. That translates to "I went to the file system of each
of the n servers and looked at the cert directly".

Hi Wes,

On 2014-04-29 19:31 George, Wes said the following:
> The RFC Diff tool seems to only be working in side-by-side mode. Either manually selecting HTML diff on the main rfcdiff page or clicking either the “diff1” or “diff2” links on any I-D leads to the side-by-side diff rather than the green/red strikethrough version.

Fixed!

I'm not sure what to say, then. I clearly didn't make up the cert that I =

Oh, I believe you, and I have a tentative theory (below); my latest point
was that it's not helpful to suggest someone does something he's already
indicated he did.

If my theory is right, you got the cert from a box which should *not*
have been in the DNS round-robin, but was for a little while. It's an old
box which isn't used for anything any more, and certainly isn't part of
the tools servers, but it snuck into the zone file for tools by a
cut-and-paste error.

A suspicion of something like that was the reason I asked if the cert was
captured before you captured the screen data. If that was the case, there
could have been a change in what tools.ietf.org resolved to in between the
two. Especially since between the time I asked the question, and the time
you responded, I'd checked the zone file and pushed out a new version ,:-)

it might be worth looking at ssllabs.com's output for tools.ietf.org...

which shows 'inconsistent configuration' for the 3 servers.

Good point. Updating the 192.36.165.30 configuration to match the
others.

Are you sure? That doesn't seem to work for my regular login as well as =
a few likely others I have tried.

Indeed, it doesn't work for me, either. Will have to go and see if I
botched the hash which is being inserted now. Will let you know.

Best regards,

Ok, that was easy and dumb. I used sed to replace the existing hash
with "crypt$$oaK9wnkFgkG5c", but bash cleverly replaced $$ with the
process number, since I'd used outer double-quotes because the sed
expression used single-quotes. Now using "crypt\$\$oaK9wnkFgkG5c".

I've fixed up the current dump on grenache.

Best regards,

	Henrik

Next problem. Using the vanilla 5.4.1 branch with the new database dump, =
when I now try to sign in I no longer get the error about my password =
being wrong (good), but I don't actually get logged in (bad). The page =
just reloads.
