Hi. I find that the html output of rfcdiff is hard to read. Is there
any chance that the web pages that tools.ietf.org has for rfcdiff
output could include an option to get to rfcdiff --diff output as
well? This would be very useful for me although probably not many
other people.

I've tested adding links to rfcdiff --diff output within the same brackets
on the wg draft pages which provide links to the side-by-side html diff;
now you'll find 3 links within the brackets, where the first link is to a
side-by-side html diff, the second link is to a inline wdiff-style html
diff, and the third link is to a plain unified diff output.

For a sample, check this page, and let me know if this arrangement works
for you, and if any tweaks would make it better:

  http://www1.tools.ietf.org/wg/btns/draft-ietf-btns-prob-and-applic/

For instance, the amount of context (10 unchanged lines before and after
any changed lines), and the type of diff can be changed as long as 'diff'
or 'wdiff' can provide it, or it can be produced with 'diff' or 'wdiff'
plus some filtering.

Once this looks OK, I'll retrofit it for all draft pages.

Regards,

	Henrik

Hi,

Here are the minutes from today's meeting.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

0. Present: Ray, Alex, Henrik

1. Agenda bashing

	Added 4 items from Ray under "any other business"

2. Comments on the minutes from previous meeting

	Nothing

3. Status review

   * Event scraping and generation, event xml schema, dashboard
	- Henrik

	Working on the individual draft pages and dashboard in
	parallel.

	Ray: Regarding a daily data dump - think this might be
	possible, Mike is working on this, but several of the
	data dump tables has comments, which might be truncated.
	Will be provided under password protected http access.
	The dashboard can then be built on top of this.

	Henrik: This would be just great.

	(Interesting discussion regarding coupling dashboard
	loosely or strongly with the I-D tracker)

	Dashboard should be presentable in a small circle by
	Dallas, but not up to a plenary presentation.

   * Draft info draft
	- Alex / All

	How doing with the draft? Terribly, thank you ;-)
	Will try to get a new version out for the next meeting.

   * IETF Website re-vamp
	- Andrew

	No Andrew, no new info.
	Alex: Should we send comments on e.g., too long menu items?
	- Yes.

4. Miscellaneous:

   * Calendar for IETF 65 - propose to Tero Kivinen
     to fix up this

	This has been proposed to Tero, and hopefully he will
	accept.

5. Any other business

   * Tools management committee
	We should try to look for a slot early in the week,
	ideally Sunday or Monday. Finalizing the time will
	be done after the meeting schedule comes out from
	Marcia. Make sure Project launch discussions are
	part of this, as well as plenary announcement
	discussion.

	Also expect to schedule some phone meetings before then.

   * Retreat comments
	Covered above under dashboard discussion.

   * Meetings in Dallas
	* Tools management committee meeting
	* Project launch discussion
	* Possible preparation for plenary announcement

   * 24 Hour Projects

	Ray: The idea is to use the global nature of the community
	to run a 24 hour project, where work is started at a
	certain time, and handed over from person to person
	across the globe until we after 24 hours have a finished
	useful tool.

	This requires good preparations and project management
	in place, but given that, it has the possibility of really
	capturing the imagination of the community, and presented
	in the right way could dramatically accelerate the number
	of tools developed during a year, broadening the base of
	people engaged in tool development outside the core tools
	team.

	Some clarifying comments from Alex, and some follow-up
	discussion. An additional idea would be to promote an
	"Adopt a project" idea to companies. But this might
	require more specification work before putting a project
	up for adoption (or could that be farmed out, as well)?

	Most projects might be too large for 24 hours, but on
	the other hand, it might be possible to break some
	project up into sub-projects which could be done in 24
	hours.

	This could be a good way to get more attention to the
	tools work, in addition to the benefit of the direct
	output of the projects.

6. Next meeting:

  Teleconference Wednesday 22 Feb, 17:00 GMT (same local time
  as today).

Sorry to hear that. We missed you on the call, but managed to

Hi,

  I got this from Mark Townsley, and thought it was indeed a nifty idea,
but don't have any cycles to dive into it myself. Maybe there is
someone on the list who would like to take this on?

Regards,

	Henrik

A firefox plugin search toolbar for ID and RFC search (or, heck, tracker
search). This could be its own thing, or hang off of the multi-search engine
toolbar installed by default.

BTW, the Firefox seach plugin collection already has an RFC=20
search plugin:

http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html?name=3Drfc&submitform=3DSearch=20

Seems to work, although I prefer using local copies of IDs and RFCs
(and searching rfc-index.txt/1id-index.txt in Emacs with Ctrl-S,
or all files with grep).

Best regards,
Pasi
