My review:

- Abstract: change '(iCAL)' to '(iCalendar)'.

- Introduction: change 'over MIME as defined in' to 'over Internet email=20
(using MIME) as defined in'.

- =C2=A72: The terminology for "originator" and "respondent" are a little=20
messy. As per iTIP. "originator" is the person sending the message. That=20
could be the ORGANIZER or ATTENDEE. iTIP does not have the concept of a=20
"respondent", but rather uses "recipient" to refer to the use receiving the =

scheduling message (and that too could be either the ORGANIZER or an=20
ATTENDEE). Since "respondent" is really only used in one place I suggest we =

remove it and replace it with "recipient" in =C2=A72.2.1. Then the =
following=20
should be done:

-- =C2=A72, =C2=B62 & =C2=B63 change to:

The sections below refer to the "originator" and the "recipient" of an
iMIP message. In the case of a "request" method, the originator is the
"Organizer" and the recipient is an "Attendee" of the event. In the
case of a "response" method, the originator is an "Attendee" and the
recipient is the "Organizer" of the event.

The [RFC-5322] "Reply-To" header typically contains the email address
of the originator of the scheduling message. However, this cannot be
guaranteed as Mail User Agents (MUA) are not required to enforce iMIP
    semantics.

- =C2=A72, =C2=B63 - why is Reply-to even mentioned here? If it is =
mentioned, why=20
is there no discussion on what goes in the From or To fields? I think this=20
is something lacking in the spec. What is more there needs to be a clear=20
statement that when a recipient replies to a scheduling message with=20
another scheduling message (as opposed to a "regular" email message), they=20
MUST use the addressing information in the iCalendar data and not that in=20
the email headers (i.e. discard From:, Reply-To: etc).

- =C2=A72.2.1, =C2=B63: why is the reference to "[RFC-1847]" at the start?

- =C2=A72.3, =C2=B61: change 'the "ATTENDEE" property' to 'the "ORGANIZER" =
and=20
"ATTENDEE" properties'

- =C2=A72.4 title: change 'Content Type' to 'Content-Type'.

- =C2=A72.4: this has terms like '"method" parameter' when referring to a =
MIME=20
header parameter. But the main terminology section stated that iCalendar=20
parameters would appear in lower case with the work "parameter" after them. =

So there is the potential for confusion here (we have the same issue with=20
CalDAV and iCalendar and "property"). I suggest we change the document to=20
use upper case for the iCalendar parameters, which matches how those are=20
displayed in iCalendar and iTIP. Also, when talking about MIME parameters,=20
we should explicitly state "MIME parameter" rather than just "parameter".

- =C2=A72.4, =C2=B610: missing reference '<<add ref>>'.

- =C2=A72.5 Example: change 'ACME' to 'example.com' - do that for all =
examples.

- =C2=A73, =C2=B61: comment left at the end of the paragraph needs to be =
addressed.

- =C2=A73, =C2=B64: change 'Section 3 of [iTIP]' to 'Section 1.4 of =
[iTIP]'.

- =C2=A74.3 title: 'Inline Attachment' is confusing as iCalendar refers to=20
"inline attachments" as ones where the attachment data is directly in the=20
iCalendar property. I suggest just removing 'and Inline Attachment' from=20
the end of the title.

Dear Colleagues,

/This e-mail is going to the mailing lists primarily interested in
Calendaring and related matters. My apologies if you receive this
notice multiple times; many of us are on multiple mailing lists.

/
Registration is now open for CalConnect XVII, February 1-5, 2010, at the
University of California at Irvine, Irvine, California. Please see
http://www.calconnect.org/calconnect17.shtml for logistics and
registration information for the Roundtable and for the Interoperability
Test Events.

Note that we will be conducting both a regular Interoperability Test
Event and a Mobile Calendaring Interoperability Test Event on February
1-3. More information about the regular IOP Test Event is at
http://www.calconnect.org/iop1002.shtml. More information about the
Mobile Calendaring IOP Test Event is at
http://www.calconnect.org/miop1002.shtml.

The meeting venue will be the University Club at UC Irvine. The
logistics page includes a map of the area (including hotels and the
location of the meeting venue) and directions to the University Club.
The University club also has a dedicated parking lot for those who have
cars.

The Conference Hotel will be the Ayers Hotels & Suites, Costa Mesa /
Newport Beach <http://www.ayreshotels.com/costamesa/> which is near the
John Wayne Airport and about 4 miles from UC Irvine. CalConnect has a
special rate for this event negotiated by the University. The logistics
page contains more information about the hotel and how to reserve your
room at the special rate of $79/night. /Please be aware that you may
book at the CalConnect rate starting _Monday, December 7_/.

The hotel offers shuttle service to and from the airport, and also
expects to offer shuttle service for us to and from the meeting venue
each day for those who are interested.

We will be announcing additional and special sessions of interest as
more material becomes available. At this time while the general
schedule is set, we cannot guarantee that the specific dates and times
set on the logistics page for each TC will not change.

See you in Irvine!

Best Regards,

Dave Thewlis
