Congratulations.

At some point I would like some insight into why property parameters were
mapped to elements within <IC:parameters> rather than XML attributes of the
property element. Was there an advantage to using only elements?

This e-mail is going to multiple calendaring-related lists; my apologies =
if you receive more than one copy but you probably will, as so many =
folks are on multiple lists.

Dear Colleagues,

CalConnect is pleased to announce that its next event, CalConnect XXII, =
will be in Prague, Czech Republic, the week of October 3-7, 2011, and we =
would like to invite everyone, especially our European colleagues, to =
join us.

This will be the first full CalConnect event in Europe, featuring an =
Interoperability Test Event, a Technical Conference, plus additional =
workshops and seminars. We are offering a one-timel, very reduced =
registration fee for non-members to participate in both the IOP Test =
Event and the Roundtable Technical Conference of only $350 per person. =20=

If you are interested in calendaring, would like to participate in the =
interoperability testing or the technical seminar, but have found trying =
to go to North America too time-consuming or expensive, here's your =
chance to participate and find out more about what we do and whether you =
want to be involved. =20

For a full introduction to and summary of this event, please see =
http://calconnect.wordpress.com/2011/08/12/calconnect-is-coming-to-europe/=

On behalf of the co-chairs I announce a colloquium about the
implications of possible changes to the definition of UTC which is
scheduled for a vote by delegates to the Radiocommunication Assembly
in January. The draft under consideration by the ITU-R would redefine
the notions of time and calendar day in ways that would have broad
side effects.

The website for the colloquium is
http://futureofutc.org/

Abstracts already received include contributions from national
observatories, international agencies, geophysics and navigation
communities. Software and operating systems remain underrepresented.

I invite contributions from members of the internet calendar community
and anyone who may have code, systems, or products which could be
affected by changes in the definition of the radio broadcast time
signals which underly them.

Small Nits:

In 3.1.3 "Over time zone timezone" I think should read "Over time some
timezone"

In 3.1.6 "appropriate UTF offset" I think should read "appropriate UTC
offset"

Mismatch in format default?

In some of the examples (for example 5.2.1), it seems the default data
type returned is application/xml - there was no format= specified, but
application/xml returned in the result; in 3.1.1 the default is specified as
text/calendar

Subject: [calsify] New timezone service draft

The new timezones service draft is now available from

https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-douglass-timezone-service/

This versions incorporates a number of changes made as a result of
interoperability testing carried out during the last CalConnect event.

We intend to be doing more testing during the next event in Prague (see
http://calconnect.org/iop1110.shtml)

We would welcome the opportunity to test against other implementations.
