I was not aware of the maxOccurs="1" and it seems to be not supported at all by the software I tested: FFmpeg ignores all but the last of the Blocks; mkvmerge only uses the first of the blocks and mkclean crashes while mkvalidator complains about a unique element occuring more than once. maxOccurs="1" has been added in commit 6210296013de0e3f95ca15fde43595bfcd6ee774 (which belongs to PR #124); it was in response to . There was no 'maxOccurs="unbounded"' present before this commit, so that this commit did not create the contradiction between the EBML-scheme and the desription of the BlockGroup element. Given that there is no codec mapping that makes use of this "different priorities" feature and that this contradiction alone meant that it could only be used if we require the EBMLDocTypeReadVersion to be at least four, it makes sense to adapt the description of the BlockGroup structure to conform to the Matroska EBML-scheme. - Andreas PS: There would be another hypothetical use-case for multiple Blocks inside the same BlockGroup: Blocks from different tracks that share the same timing. This scenario is not uncommon when one translates subtitles; yet I don't think it would be worth the additional complexity to allow this. That's an interesting observation. I was not aware of the
maxOccurs=3D"1" and it seems to be not supported at all by the so= ftware
I tested: FFmpeg ignores all but the last of the Blocks; mkvmerge only
uses the first of the blocks and mkclean crashes while mkvalidator
complains about a unique element occuring more than once.

maxOccurs=3D"1" has been added in commit
6210296013de0e3f95ca15fde43595bfcd6ee774 (which belongs to PR #124);
it was in response to

There was no 'maxOccurs=3D"unbounded"' present before thi= s commit, so
that this commit did not create the contradiction between the
EBML-scheme and the desription of the BlockGroup element.

Given that there is no codec mapping that makes use of this "different=
priorities" feature and that this contradiction alone meant that it could only be used if we require the EBMLDocTypeReadVersion to be at
least four, it makes sense to adapt the description of the BlockGroup
structure to conform to the Matroska EBML-scheme.

the same timing. This scenario is not uncommon when one translates
subtitles; yet I don't think it would be worth the additional

Split the main Matroska document to take the Chapters in another document? Only elements required for proper playback should be in the main document. Document 166 pages today. Chapters is 6 pages, section 11. --- but the section is not finished. Core document 9.3.4 "Tracks" is pages 45->106. MCR: hears support for splitting the chapter off, but asks if there is really that much savings. Steve: we could make the document smaller by grouping things that have only one parent or one child, with some better transformation of the formatting. The chapters section is not finished, and there are lot of incomplete sections which will make the section significantly larger, and so splitting it off into another document may still be justified. It makes no sense to work on it now, but make the split off now. Steve will give it a try and see what the savings is, and if we have a lot references that break, but does not think that this is the case. Dave Rice is hesistant, not sure he sees enough of an advantage. Tags and Meta-data are developed asynchronously, but the chapters are not going to evolve in place. This issue will be deferred. Peter B: ffv1 support in davinci / black-magic. Would rather do this after the document is published. What is status? did Derek's feedback about the implementation in GO make it back into the document. DR: Yes, this went back into the document about three months ago. 6. Work on Matroska issues.
Split the main Matroska document to take the Chapters in another document?=
Only elements required for proper playback should be in the main docume= nt.
Document 166 pages today.
Chapters is 6 pages, section 11. =C2=A0= --- but the section is not finished.
Core document 9.3.4 "Tracks&qu= ot; is pages 45->106.

MCR: hears support for splitting the chapte= r off, but asks if there is really
that much savings. Steve: we could ma= ke the document smaller by grouping things
that have only one parent or = one child, with some better transformation of the
formatting.

The= chapters section is not finished, and there are lot of incomplete sections=
which will make the section significantly larger, and so splitting it o= ff into
another document may still be justified. It makes no sense to wo= rk on it now,
but make the split off now. Steve will give it a try and s= ee what the savings
is, and if we have a lot references that break, but = does not think that this is
the case. Dave Rice is hesistant, not sure h= e sees enough of an advantage. Tags
and Meta-data are developed asynchro= nously, but the chapters are not going to
evolve in place. This issue wi= ll be deferred.

6. Wo= rk on Matroska issues.

Split the main Matroska document to take the = Chapters in another document?
Only elements required for proper playback= should be in the main document.
Document 166 pages today.
Chapters i= s 6 pages, section 11. =C2=A0--- but the section is not finished.
Core d= ocument 9.3.4 "Tracks" is pages 45->106.

MCR: hears sup= port for splitting the chapter off, but asks if there is really
that muc= h savings. Steve: we could make the document smaller by grouping things
= that have only one parent or one child, with some better transformation of = the
formatting.

The chapters section is not finished, and there a= re lot of incomplete sections
which will make the section significantly = larger, and so splitting it off into
another document may still be justi= fied. It makes no sense to work on it now,
but make the split off now. S= teve will give it a try and see what the savings
is, and if we have a lo= t references that break, but does not think that this is
the case. Dave = Rice is hesistant, not sure he sees enough of an advantage. Tags
and Met= a-data are developed asynchronously, but the chapters are not going to
e= volve in place. This issue will be deferred.

Peter B:
