Hi All,

Sorry it has taken so long to get this draft updated.

When it was presented back in June by Andy there were two issues raised =
that required attention prior to being dispatched.
They were both raised by Paul Kyzivat.

The first was that it wasn=E2=80=99t overly clear the type of trust =
domain that the parameter was intended to operate in and he requested a =
reference to RFC 3325. This has been added.

The second was that he pointed out that the text was expecting a fully =
qualified host name but didn=E2=80=99t say anything about the use of IP =
addresses. I have added language around this.

Could we please look for a more permanent home for it now?

Cheers
James

The IESG has received a request from an individual submitter to consider
the following document:
- 'Improving the Organizational Flexibility of the SIP Change Process.'
  <draft-campbell-art-rfc5727-update-02.txt> as Best Current Practice

The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits
final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the
ietf@ietf.org mailing lists by 2016-01-05. Exceptionally, comments may be
sent to iesg@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the
beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting.

Abstract

RFC 5727 defines several processes for the Real-time Applications and
Infrastructure (RAI) area. These processes include the evolution of
the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and related protocols, as well
as the operation of the DISPATCH and SIPCORE working groups. This
document updates RFC 5727 to allow flexibility for the area and
working group structure, while preserving the SIP change processes.
It also generalizes the DISPATCH working group processes so that they
can be easily adopted by other working groups.

Hi Christer,

I've looked over the draft and I think it correctly covers the errata in
section 5.7 and the updates discussed on the sipcore list.

I'd still like to see a bit of motivational text about the addition of
ACK for PANI. The draft also needs to capture Keith's input about the
ACK requests to 3xx-6xx responses.

Thanks,

Jean

K for PANI.=20

We're looking into that, and the intention is to provide such text in the n=
ext version.

It should not prevent us from moving ahead with the errata part, though.

>The draft also needs to capture Keith's input about the ACK requests to 3x=
x-6xx responses.

We'll look into that too - and Keith is of course more than welcome to help=
 :)

Thanks,

Jean

Hi all,

We have just submitted this draft: =
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-suznjevic-dispatch-delay-limits/=20

It surveys a set of recommendations about the maximum latency tolerated =
by the users of services with delay constraints.

Some recommendations already exist for e.g. VoIP, but emerging services =
as e.g. online gaming, have different requirements.

Different papers in the literature reporting these constraints are =
surveyed, and a summary of the latency limits for each service is =
provided.

The draft has been adapted from a more specific one, which was submitted =
some time ago to the Transport Area WG =
(http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-suznjevic-tsvwg-mtd-tcmtf/). The =
current version is more general, and not specific for the case of =
traffic optimization with multiplexing.

We have submitted the draft to the Dispatch WG, since we believe this is =
related to Real-time services. If people in the list could provide some =
guidance about the best place for this document, it would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Jose Saldana & Mirko Suznjevic

The Dispatch WG only handles matters related to SIP. It seems to me
that this issue is on the boundary between Transport and Applicatons and
Real Time. Since this is a summary of requirements, not a
recommendation of how to implement them, it's probably best places in
the general Applications and Real Time discussion, Appsawg.

That was then. Now that the Apps and Realtime areas have merged into
ART, DISPATCH handles anything that might be of interest to ART.

John, Dale,

First of all, thank you very much for your help.

So we assume your recommendation is to ask in appsawg, is that correct?

Thanks,

Jose

Hi,

I've submitted a new version (-02) of draft-holmberg-dispatch-rfc7315-updat=
es.

It now contains some background information and justification for the sugge=
sted update to allow the P-Access-Network-Info header field in ACK requests=
.

Still working on the background information/justification for the suggested=
 P-Charging-Vector update.
