Hi Joel:

I'm the Document Shepherd for the three EMAN MIB drafts. All three
are now ready to submit to IESG. They are:

   draft-ietf-eman-energy-aware-mib-14,
   draft-ietf-eman-energy-monitoring-mib-09 and
   draft-ietf-eman-battery-mib-12

I've put the Shepherd Writeup up on the Tracker page for
energy-aware-mib and battery-mib.
The energy-monitoring-mib has a few remaining nits which the authrs are
fixing, so the 'submitted' version will be -013. I'll get its writeup
into Tracker early next week.

Please consider this the WG's request to submit them to IESG.

Cheers, Nevil

I've put the Shepherd Writeup up on the Tracker page for
energy-aware-mib and battery-mib.
The energy-monitoring-mib has a few remaining nits which the
authrs are fixing, so the 'submitted' version will be -013. I'll
      get its writeup
into Tracker early next week.

Please consider this the WG's request to submit them to IESG.

Hi Mouli:

Yes, that's fine. Sorry I was a little too quick on that draft.

All three of the EMAN MIB drafts are now with our AD for submission
to the IESG.

Now we need to get back to work on the Applicability Statement draft!

Cheers, Nevil

	Mouli/Bruce/Brad,

Benoit just asked me to became document shepherd for the =
applicability statement and move this to completion ASAP - and prior to =
the next meeting if we can. To this end, I would like to query you guys =
on what the status on the document is from your perspective. I've =
looked over the document and it is in pretty good shape. Now that the =
other EMAN drafts are finished or almost out the door, we are in the =
last stretch here as this document is our last chartered item to =
complete. With this in mind, I would like to target starting a WG LC on =
this document in about a week. Can you commit to having it ready for a =
week from today?

Mouli/Bruce/Brad,

Benoit just asked me to became document shepherd for the applicability stat=
ement and move this to completion ASAP - and prior to the next meeting if w=
e can. To this end, I would like to query you guys on what the status on th=
e document is from your perspective. I've looked over the document and it =
is in pretty good shape. Now that the other EMAN drafts are finished or alm=
ost out the door, we are in the last stretch here as this document is our l=
ast chartered item to complete. With this in mind, I would like to target s=
tarting a WG LC on this document in about a week. Can you commit to having =
it ready for a week from today?

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Energy Management Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Energy Management (EMAN) Applicability Statement
        Authors : Brad Schoening
                          Mouli Chandramouli
                          Bruce Nordman
	Filename : draft-ietf-eman-applicability-statement-06.txt
	Pages : 30
	Date : 2014-06-24

Abstract:
The objective of Energy Management (EMAN) is to provide an
energy management framework for networked devices. This
document presents the applicability of the EMAN framework to a
variety of scenarios. This document lists use cases and target
devices that can potentially implement the EMAN framework and
associated SNMP MIB modules. These use cases are useful for
identifying requirements for the framework and MIBs. Further,
we describe the relationship of the EMAN framework to relevant
other energy monitoring standards and architectures.

Hi Tom,

An updated draft has been submitted per your suggestion. The WG chairs can=
decide on the WG LC.

Thanks
Mouli

Hello --=20

I have reviewed draft-ietf-eman-applicability-statement-06 and I'm glad =
to see the state and maturity it has reached.

Only one comment below on my side:

2.14 "Power Capping".

"This gives vendors the option to use smaller, cost-effective power =
supplies that allow real world workloads to run at nominal themselves".=20=

This is not very clear and not totally true. The purpose of =
power-capping is to run a server without exceeding some power usage to =
remain under the critical available power threshold. If using power =
capping would lead to vendor using smaller power supplies, as this =
sentence suggests, then not using power capping would blow out the power =
supply...=20

Thank you,
Emmanuel
