*********************************************************************************
The ICIN conference, established in 1989 and praised for the high quality of its
technical program and richness of its social networking, is also recognized for
its continuous adaptation to emerging technical trends.

The year 2020 will be a keystone in the evolution toward the networks of the
future, with the first commercial deployments of large-scale 5G infrastructures,
the increasing interest in network intelligence and machine learning techniques
applied to network management and orchestration, the progress of precision
networking technologies toward low-latency services, and the end of the Horizon
2020 research framework program in Europe superseded by the next Horizon Europe.

In this scenario and considering the many challenges that the aforementioned
paradigms and technologies will bring, ICIN 2020 will focus on:

“Beyond 5G: building network sense”

The conference will foster new ideas and novel approaches to future service
delivery in a smart network environment, able to show what could be qualified as
sense, “a sane and realistic attitude to situations and problems”, according to
Oxford Dictionary. With this vision, the conference will look beyond the current
state of the art and promote the advances of network management and orchestration
technologies.

ICIN 2020 aims at providing an international forum for researchers and
practitioners from academia, industry, network operators, and service providers
to discuss and address the challenges posed by innovation in clouds, Internet and
networks. Interested authors are invited to submit papers presenting novel
technical studies as well as broader position and visionary papers. Contributions
that discuss lessons learnt and best practices, describe practical deployment and
implementation experiences, and demonstrate innovative use-cases are especially
encouraged.

**********************************************************************************
ICIN 2020 solicits original, unpublished work not currently under review by other
conferences or journals. Papers submitted to ICIN 2020 will be assessed based on
originality, technical soundness, clarity and interest to a wide audience. All
submissions must be written in English and must use standard IEEE two-column
conference template, available for download from the IEEE website:

https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html

Only PDF files will be accepted for the review process and all submissions must
be done electronically through EDAS using the following link:

https://edas.info/N26190

Technical papers can be of two types: full papers or short papers, up to 8 pages
and 5 pages respectively, including tables, figures and references. Demo papers
of length of 3 pages are also solicited.

At least one author is required to register, at the full rate, to present
accepted papers at the conference and for the paper to appear in the conference
proceedings.

The best technical papers presented at the conference will be invited to submit
an extended version for fast-track review in the following journals:
     - IEEE Transactions on Network Service and Management (Impact Factor: 3.286)
     - MDPI Sensors (Impact Factor: 2.475)
Extended versions of ICIN 2020 papers must include at least 30% of new material
(algorithms, results, related work) compared to the conference version.
Particularly innovative and visionary papers will be invited to submit a
tutorial-style, magazine version for fast-track review in:
     - IEEE Communications Magazine (Impact Factor: 9.270)

Areas of interest and topics include, but are not limited to:

https://conferences2.sigcomm.org/co-next/2019/#!/cfp =
<https://conferences2.sigcomm.org/co-next/2019/#!/cfp>

The CoNEXT 2019 conference seeks papers presenting significant and novel =
research results on emerging computer networks and its applications. We =
especially encourage submissions that present novel experimentation, =
creative use of networking technologies, and new insights made possible =
using analysis. We invite submissions on a wide range of Networking =
topics. The list of topics includes (in alphabetical order):=20

Big Data platforms with applications to network management, security, =
measurements=20
Content distribution and caching, e.g., CDN, peer-to-peer, overlays=20
Design, analysis, and evaluation of network architectures=20
Experience and lessons learned by deploying large-scale networked =
systems=20
Internet measurement and modeling=20
Internet economics and policy=20
Innovative uses of network data beyond communication=20
Networking aspects of datacenters and cloud computing=20
Networking aspects of operating systems and virtualization architectures=20=

Network aspects of Web, Video, and Virtual Reality applications=20
Network control and management, including SDN, NFV and network =
programmability=20
Network, transport, and application-layer protocols=20
Networking aspects of ubiquitous computing, including Internet-of-Things =
and Smart Cities=20
Networking aspects of online social networks=20
Reliability and availability of networks, protocols, and applications=20
Routing and traffic engineering=20
Security and privacy aspects of network applications and protocols=20
Topics at the intersection of energy-efficient computing and networking=20=

Wireless networking in licensed and unlicensed spectrum=20
We are open to other contributions that stretch networking research =
outside of these topics, present new emerging computing trends, or =
potentially involve unfamiliar techniques. We ask authors to bear in =
mind that the main factor of interest for their work will be the =
implications of their results in networking. Potential authors who are =
unsure of the scope are encouraged to contact the PC chairs before =
submission.=20

Submission=20
CoNEXT welcomes submission of both long and short papers (2-column, 10pt =
ACM format). All the submissions should be double-blind and will be =
peer-reviewed. Per the anonymity guidelines, you must remove any author =
names.=20

Long papers are the more traditional form to present technical work and =
should be no more than 12 pages (up to two additional pages for =
appendices and unlimited pages for references). Short papers are the =
preferred vehicle for contributions whose novelty and impact show the =
same technical excellence, but whose description fits within 6 pages =
(one additional page for appendices and unlimited pages for references). =
Short papers will be reviewed with a more open mind towards the scope of =
evaluation or breadth of topics compared to long papers. Note that =
position papers, critiques of networking research, and ideas that are =
not yet fully complete or evaluated are a better fit for the HotNets =
workshop. We recommend that authors check both call for papers before =
submitting.=20

We welcome experience submissions that clearly articulate lessons =
learned, as well as submissions that refute prior published results. We =
value submissions more highly if they are accompanied by clearly defined =
artifacts not previously available, including traces, original data, =
source code, or tools developed as part of the submitted work.=20

Ethical concerns=20
CoNEXT accords great importance to research ethics. Specifically, =
authors must attest that their work complies with all applicable ethical =
standards of their home institution(s), including, but not limited to =
privacy policies and policies on experiments involving humans. =
Submitting research for approval by one=E2=80=99s institution=E2=80=99s =
ethics review body is necessary, but not sufficient. The PC will have =
its own discussion of the ethics of that work whenever it has concerns =
about the ethics of a submission. Authors agree to be available at any =
time during the review process to rapidly respond to queries from the PC =
chairs regarding ethical standards.=20

Paper Submission=20
Important Dates=20

Abstract Registration: Wednesday, June 19, 2019 (6PM EST)=20

Paper Submission: Wednesday, June 26, 2019 (6PM EST)=20

(hard deadline, no extensions will be given)=20

Notification of Acceptance: September 10, 2019=20

Camera Ready: October 13, 2019=20

Official publication date: December 8, 2019=20

Conference: December 9-12 (Orlando, Florida)=20

AUTHORS TAKE NOTE: The official publication date is the date the =
proceedings are made available in the ACM Digital Library. This date may =
be up to two weeks prior to the first day of your conference. The =
official publication date affects the deadline for any patent filings =
related to published work.=20=

div class=3D""><br class=3D"">The CoNEXT 2019 conference seeks papers =
presenting significant and novel research results on emerging computer =
networks and its applications. We especially encourage submissions =
that present novel experimentation, creative use of networking =
technologies, and new insights made possible using analysis. We =
invite submissions on a wide range of Networking topics. The list of =
topics includes (in alphabetical order): <br class=3D""><br =
class=3D"">Big Data platforms with applications to network management, =
security, measurements <br class=3D"">Content distribution and =
caching, e.g., CDN, peer-to-peer, overlays <br class=3D"">Design, =
analysis, and evaluation of network architectures <br =
class=3D"">Experience and lessons learned by deploying large-scale =
networked systems <br class=3D"">Internet measurement and =
modeling <br class=3D"">Internet economics and policy <br =
class=3D"">Innovative uses of network data beyond communication <br =
class=3D"">Networking aspects of datacenters and cloud =
computing <br class=3D"">Networking aspects of operating systems =
and virtualization architectures <br class=3D"">Network aspects of =
Web, Video, and Virtual Reality applications <br class=3D"">Network =
control and management, including SDN, NFV and network =
programmability <br class=3D"">Network, transport, and =
application-layer protocols <br class=3D"">Networking aspects of =
ubiquitous computing, including Internet-of-Things and Smart =
Cities <br class=3D"">Networking aspects of online social =
networks <br class=3D"">Reliability and availability of networks, =
protocols, and applications <br class=3D"">Routing and traffic =
engineering <br class=3D"">Security and privacy aspects of network =
applications and protocols <br class=3D"">Topics at the =
intersection of energy-efficient computing and networking <br =
class=3D"">Wireless networking in licensed and unlicensed =
spectrum <br class=3D"">We are open to other contributions that =
stretch networking research outside of these topics, present new =
emerging computing trends, or potentially involve unfamiliar =
techniques. We ask authors to bear in mind that the main factor of =
interest for their work will be the implications of their results =
in networking. Potential authors who are unsure of the scope are =
encouraged to contact the PC chairs before submission. <br =
class=3D""><br class=3D"">Submission <br class=3D"">CoNEXT welcomes =
submission of both long and short papers (2-column, 10pt ACM format). =
All the submissions should be double-blind and will be =
peer-reviewed. Per the anonymity guidelines, you must remove any author =
names. <br class=3D""><br class=3D"">Long papers are the more =
traditional form to present technical work and should be no more than 12 =
pages (up to two additional pages for appendices and unlimited =
pages for references). Short papers are the preferred vehicle for =
contributions whose novelty and impact show the same technical =
excellence, but whose description fits within 6 pages (one additional =
page for appendices and unlimited pages for references). Short =
papers will be reviewed with a more open mind towards the scope of =
evaluation or breadth of topics compared to long papers. Note =
that position papers, critiques of networking research, and ideas =
that are not yet fully complete or evaluated are a better fit for the =
HotNets workshop. We recommend that authors check both call for =
papers before submitting. <br class=3D""><br class=3D"">We welcome =
experience submissions that clearly articulate lessons learned, as well =
as submissions that refute prior published results. We =
value submissions more highly if they are accompanied by clearly =
defined artifacts not previously available, including traces, original =
data, source code, or tools developed as part of the submitted =
work. <br class=3D""><br class=3D"">Ethical concerns <br =
class=3D"">CoNEXT accords great importance to research ethics. =
Specifically, authors must attest that their work complies with all =
applicable ethical standards of their home institution(s), =
including, but not limited to privacy policies and policies on =
experiments involving humans. Submitting research for approval by =
one=E2=80=99s institution=E2=80=99s ethics review body is necessary, but =
not sufficient. The PC will have its own discussion of the =
ethics of that work whenever it has concerns about the ethics of a =
submission. Authors agree to be available at any time during the review =
process to rapidly respond to queries from the PC chairs regarding =
ethical standards. <br class=3D""><br class=3D"">Paper =
