A new Request for Comments is now available in online RFC libraries.

        RFC 4555

Title: IKEv2 Mobility and Multihoming Protocol
                    (MOBIKE)
        Author: P. Eronen
        Status: Standards Track
        Date: June 2006
        Mailbox: pasi.eronen@nokia.com
        Pages: 33
        Characters: 78698

        I-D Tag: draft-ietf-mobike-protocol-08.txt

        URL: http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc4555.txt

This document describes the MOBIKE protocol, a mobility and
multihoming extension to Internet Key Exchange (IKEv2). MOBIKE
allows the IP addresses associated with IKEv2 and tunnel mode IPsec
Security Associations to change. A mobile Virtual Private Network
(VPN) client could use MOBIKE to keep the connection with the VPN
gateway active while moving from one address to another. Similarly,
a multihomed host could use MOBIKE to move the traffic to a different
interface if, for instance, the one currently being used stops
working. [STANDARDS TRACK]

This document is a product of the IKEv2 Mobility and Multihoming
Working Group of the IETF.

This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.

STANDARDS TRACK: This document specifies an Internet standards track
protocol for the Internet community, and requests discussion and
suggestions for improvements. Please refer to the current edition of the
Internet Official Protocol Standards (STD 1) for the standardization
state and status of this protocol. Distribution of this memo is
unlimited.

This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list.
Requests to be added to or deleted from the IETF distribution list
should be sent to IETF-REQUEST@IETF.ORG. Requests to be
added to or deleted from the RFC-DIST distribution list should
be sent to RFC-DIST-REQUEST@RFC-EDITOR.ORG.

Details on obtaining RFCs via FTP or EMAIL may be obtained by sending
an EMAIL message to rfc-info@RFC-EDITOR.ORG with the message body

help: ways_to_get_rfcs. For example:

        To: rfc-info@RFC-EDITOR.ORG
        Subject: getting rfcs

        help: ways_to_get_rfcs

Requests for special distribution should be addressed to either the
author of the RFC in question, or to RFC-Manager@RFC-EDITOR.ORG. Unless
specifically noted otherwise on the RFC itself, all RFCs are for
unlimited distribution.

Submissions for Requests for Comments should be sent to
RFC-EDITOR@RFC-EDITOR.ORG. Please consult RFC 2223, Instructions to RFC
Authors, for further information.

Subject: I-D ACTION:draft-sheffer-ipsec-secure-beacon-00.txt

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.

Title : Secure Beacon: Securely Detecting a Trusted Network
	Author(s)	: Y. Sheffer
	Filename	: draft-sheffer-ipsec-secure-beacon-00.txt
	Pages : 15
	Date : 2006-6-15

Remote access clients, in particular IPsec-based ones, are heavily deployed in enterprise environments. In many enterprises the security policy allows remote-access clients to switch to unprotected operation when entering the trusted network. This document specifies a method that lets a client detect this situation in a secure manner, with the help of a security gateway. We propose a minor extension to
IKEv2 to achieve this goal.

A URL for this Internet-Draft is:
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-sheffer-ipsec-secure-beacon-00.txt

To remove yourself from the I-D Announcement list, send a message to i-d-announce-request@ietf.org with the word unsubscribe in the body of the message.
You can also visit https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/I-D-announce
to change your subscription settings.

Internet-Drafts are also available by anonymous FTP. Login with the username "anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address. After logging in, type "cd internet-drafts" and then
	"get draft-sheffer-ipsec-secure-beacon-00.txt".

A list of Internet-Drafts directories can be found in http://www.ietf.org/shadow.html or ftp://ftp.ietf.org/ietf/1shadow-sites.txt

Internet-Drafts can also be obtained by e-mail.

Send a message to:
	mailserv@ietf.org.
In the body type:
	"FILE /internet-drafts/draft-sheffer-ipsec-secure-beacon-00.txt".

NOTE:	The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
	how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.

Inasmuch as the MOBIKE mailing list is pretty dead (and may be shut
off after the final WG document becomes an RFC), it would be better
to have the discussion of this draft on a different mailing list.
Yaron already posted this to the IPsec mailing list, which will be
long-lived; it is better to discuss it there (and the MIP4 mailing
list, if so desired).

All,

I am new to this MOBIKE domain. I need to implement MOBIKE using IKEv2
MOBIKE draft-08 (Feb 2006). Can anybody give any pointer to estimate this
activity? I understand IPSec, IKE and IPv4 domain fairly good :-)..

Any pointer will be highly appreciated
