	Filename : draft-ietf-nvo3-yang-cfg-00.txt
	Pages : 27
	Date : 2019-10-07

Abstract:
This document describes the base YANG data model that can be used by
operators to configure and manage Network Virtualization Overlay
protocols. The model is focused on the common configuration
requirement of various encapsulation options, such as VXLAN, NVGRE,
GENEVE and VXLAN-GPE. Using this model as a starting point,
incremental work can be done to satisfy the requirement of a specific
   encapsulation.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Path Computation Element WG of the IETF.

Title : Path Computation Element Communication Protocol (PCEP) Extension for Path Segment in Segment Routing (SR)
        Authors : Cheng Li

	Pages : 26
	Date : 2019-10-11

Abstract:
The Path Computation Element (PCE) provides path computation
functions in support of traffic engineering in Multiprotocol Label
Switching (MPLS) and Generalized MPLS (GMPLS) networks.

The Source Packet Routing in Networking (SPRING) architecture
describes how Segment Routing (SR) can be used to steer packets
through an IPv6 or MPLS network using the source routing paradigm. A
Segment Routed Path can be derived from a variety of mechanisms,
including an IGP Shortest Path Tree (SPT), explicit configuration, or
   a Path Computation Element (PCE).

Path identification is needed for several use cases such as
performance measurement in Segment Routing (SR) network. This
document specifies extensions to the Path Computation Element
Communication Protocol (PCEP) to support requesting, replying,
reporting and updating the Path Segment ID (Path SID) between PCEP
   speakers.

Abstract:
Provider Backbone Bridging (PBB) can be combined with Ethernet VPN
(EVPN) to deploy ELAN services in very large MPLS networks (PBB-
   EVPN). Single-Active Multi-homing and per-ISID Load-Balancing can be
provided to access devices and aggregation networks. In order to
speed up the network convergence in case of failures on Single-Active
   Multi-Homed Ethernet Segments, PBB-EVPN defines a CMAC-Flush
mechanism that works for different Ethernet Segment BMAC address
allocation models. This document complements those CMAC-Flush
procedures for cases in which no PBB-EVPN Ethernet Segments are
defined (ESI 0) and an ISID-based CMAC-Flush granularity is desired.

                          Oscar Gonzalez de Dios

	Pages : 96
	Date : 2019-10-18

Abstract:
RFC8299 defines a L3VPN Service YANG data Model (L3SM) that can be
used for communication between customers and network operators. Such
model is adequate for the customer to network operator conversation
and plays the role of a Customer Service Model, according to the
   terminology defined in RFC8309.

There is a need for a YANG model to be used in the communication
between the entity that interacts directly with the customer, the
service orchestrator, (either fully automated or a human operator)
and the entity in charge of network orchestration and control (aka
   network controller / orchestrator).

This document proposes a L3VPN Network Yang Model (L3NM) to
facilitate communication between a service orchestrator and a network
controller / orchestrator. The resulting model is called the L3VPN
Network Model (L3NM) and provides a network-centric view of the L3VPN
   services.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the IPv6 Operations WG of the IETF.

Title : Neighbor Cache Entries on First-Hop Routers: Operational Considerations
        Author : Jen Linkova
	Filename : draft-ietf-v6ops-nd-cache-init-00.txt
	Pages : 13
	Date : 2019-10-28

Abstract:
Neighbor Discovery (RFC4861) is used by IPv6 nodes to determine the
link-layer addresses of neighboring nodes as well as to discover and
maintain reachability information. This document discusses how the
neighbor discovery state machine on a first-hop router is causing
user-visible connectivity issues when a new (not being seen on the
network before) IPv6 address is being used.

	Pages : 12
	Date : 2019-10-28

Abstract:
A Segment Routing (SR) policy is a set of candidate SR paths
consisting of one or more segment lists with necessary path
attributes. For each SR path, it may also have its own path
attributes, and Path Segment is one of them. A Path Segment is
defined to identify an SR path, which can be used for performance
measurement, path correlation, and end-2-end path protection. Path
Segment can be also used to correlate two unidirctional SR paths into
a bidirectional SR path which is required in some scenarios, for
   example, mobile backhaul transport network.

This document defines extensions to BGP to distribute SR policies
carrying Path Segment and bidirectional path information.

This draft is a work item of the SIDR Operations WG of the IETF.

Title : BGP RPKI-Based Origin Validation on Export
        Authors : Randy Bush

	Pages : 4
	Date : 2019-10-30

Abstract:
A BGP speaker may perform RPKI origin validation not only on routes
received from BGP neighbors and routes that are redistributed from
other routing protocols, but also on routes it sends to BGP
neighbors. For egress policy, it is important that the
classification uses the effective origin AS of the processed route,
which may specifically be altered by the commonly available knobs
such as removing private ASs, confederation handling, and other
   modifications of the origin AS.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Link State Routing WG of the IETF.

        Title : IS-IS Extended Hierarchy
        Authors : Tony Li

	Pages : 13
	Date : 2019-10-30

Abstract:
The IS-IS routing protocol was originally defined with a two level
hierarchical structure. This was adequate for the networks at the
time. As we continue to expand the scale of our networks, it is
apparent that additional hierarchy would be a welcome degree of
   flexibility in network design.

This document defines IS-IS Levels 3 through 8.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Calendaring Extensions WG of the IETF.

Title : Support for Series in iCalendar
        Author : Michael Douglass
	Filename : draft-ietf-calext-icalendar-series-00.txt
	Pages : 27
	Date : 2019-10-30

Abstract:
This specification updates [RFC5545] by defining a new repeating set
of events known as a series. This differs from recurrences in that
each instance is a separate entity with a parent relationship to a
   specified template entity.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Domain Name System Operations WG of the IETF.

Title : Service binding and parameter specification via the DNS (DNS SVCB and HTTPSSVC)
        Authors : Ben Schwartz
                          Mike Bishop
                          Erik Nygren
	Filename : draft-ietf-dnsop-svcb-httpssvc-00.txt
	Pages : 35
	Date : 2019-10-31

Abstract:
This document specifies the "SVCB" and "HTTPSSVC" DNS resource record
types to facilitate the lookup of information needed to make
connections for origin resources, such as for HTTPS URLs. SVCB
records allow an origin to be served from multiple network locations,
each with associated parameters (such as transport protocol
configuration and keying material for encrypting TLS SNI). They also
enable aliasing of apex domains, which is not possible with CNAME.
The HTTPSSVC DNS RR is a variation of SVCB for HTTPS and HTTP
origins. By providing more information to the client before it
attempts to establish a connection, these records offer potential
benefits to both performance and privacy.

TO BE REMOVED: This proposal is inspired by and based on recent DNS
usage proposals such as ALTSVC, ANAME, and ESNIKEYS (as well as long
standing desires to have SRV or a functional equivalent implemented
for HTTP). These proposals each provide an important function but
are potentially incompatible with each other, such as when an origin
is load-balanced across multiple hosting providers (multi-CDN).
Furthermore, these each add potential cases for adding additional
record lookups in-addition to AAAA/A lookups. This design attempts
to provide a unified framework that encompasses the key functionality
of these proposals, as well as providing some extensibility for
   addressing similar future challenges.

TO BE REMOVED: The specific name for this RR type is an open topic
for discussion. "SVCB" and "HTTPSSVC" are meant as placeholders as
they are easy to replace. Other names might include "B", "SRV2",
   "SVCHTTPS", "HTTPS", and "ALTSVC".
