We would like to have a Jabber Chat to discuss notifications, with a focus
on Lemonade, but open to the larger problem space.

We would propose the following dates. Please respond to the NOTIFICATIONS
list <mailto:notifications@ietf.org>, not the LEMONADE list
<mailto:lemonade@ietf.org>.

[ ] January 24, 10am Eastern Time
[ ] January 25, 10am Eastern Time
[ ] Other: _______

Thanks.

I'd like to pre-empt this by asking what people feel notifications
actually are.

I think there's at least three types - MWI notifications, out-of-band
synchronization messages, and user-directed alerts.

My suspicion is that several approaches are trying to combine these
into a single mechanism, and I suspect that this is a bad thing.

Probably any of those is fine for me, although I've not yet taken the
time to resolve "Eastern Time" into something I understand.

Drawing on Dave's e-mail:

Do we have any interest in notifications OTHER than:

MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) - "You have 2 new messages, 1 fax message,
and 99 old messages"

OOB Sync Messages (Out-of-Band, i.e., not IMAP) - "Hey - wake up! You have
some work to do at the server."

User-Directed Alerts - "That important message from your boss just arrived."

Do these notification classes have a different meaning to you?

RSVP

I can do both 1/24 and 1/25.

I am interested to know what the 'larger problem space' may be, in
relation to different pieces of work related to Notifications in the OPS
Area.=20

Subject: [Notifications] Notifications Jabber Chat

We would like to have a Jabber Chat to discuss notifications, with a
focus on Lemonade, but open to the larger problem space.

We would propose the following dates. Please respond to the
NOTIFICATIONS list <mailto:notifications@ietf.org>, not the LEMONADE
list <mailto:lemonade@ietf.org>.

[ ] January 24, 10am Eastern Time
[ ] January 25, 10am Eastern Time
[ ] Other: _______

Thanks.
