We've discussed this draft at the last two IETFs and there seemed to be int=
erest. We believe we sorted out the positioning/overlap with the MPLS and C=
CAMP WGs and are now ready to accept it as a WG document.=20
Does anyone have any objections?=20

Here is a link to the current draft: http://www.ietf.org/id/draft-giacalone=

Yes, the link is incorrect in the HTML version of the RFC. I don't remember=
giving the URL and don't know how it was inserted in the HTML version. Can=
t we just fix the HTML page to point to RFC 2328 Appendix D instead of poin=
ting to RFC 5709 Appendix D (which does not even exist!)?

There is no problem with the TXT version of the RFC.=20

Cheers, Manav

Hi Alice,

Thanks for the information. In the hopes of dispensing of this matter =
quickly, I have opened a tools ticket on this issue:

Can you close this errata as "Rejected"? If not, I'll advise Steward to =
do it (WG chairs don't have the authority).=20

Thanks,
Acee=20

Dear OSPFers,

We posted draft-ietf-ospf-ipv4-embedded-ipv6-routing-01<http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-ospf-ipv4-embedded-ipv6-routing/> last week
and comparing to the 00 text, the only change is a reference update
(RFC6145).

Please review and provide comments.

Thanks
Dean

Hi All,

We updated this delay-loss-te framework document.
We want to request it as WG document in the future. If you have any
comments, please let me know.

Please also notice there some several protocol extension to support
delay-loss-te.

This version includes changes in response to the external reviews that have=
taken place since we completed WG last call. A few things have been clarif=
ied and the following two items have been added:

    1. Mitigation of Cross Protocol Attacks by appending a protocol specifi=
c byte to the key. This will prevent replay attacks when the same key is us=
ed by multiple protocols (and the sets of valid input packets intercept). S=
ee sections 4.4 and 4.5.

    2. Recommendations for authentication key selection have been added to =
the "Security Considerations". See section 6.

Links to be the new version and a nicely annotated diff with the previous v=
ersion are included in the forwarded E-mail below.

Thanks,
Acee

Of course, I meant "intersect" rather than "intercept" below. In other word=
s, a packet from one protocol could potentially also represent a valid pack=

Hi OSPF group members,

Is this the objective of using Instance Id in OSPFv2.

Instance id will be used If interface having more than one addresses, so we
need to configure different subnets in router interface (Using secondary
address cli command).

So we can connect multiple areas on single link, No need different physical
connection for each area.

Thanks,
Thiru

This version includes changes in response to the external reviews that have=

<br>
=A0 =A01. Mitigation of Cross Protocol Attacks by appending a protocol spe=
cific byte to the key. This will prevent replay attacks when the same key i=
s used by multiple protocols (and the sets of valid input packets intercept=

<br>
=A0 =A02. Recommendations for authentication key selection have been added=
 to the &quot;Security Considerations&quot;. =A0See section 6.<br>

Of course, I meant &quot;intersect&quot; rather than &quot;intercept&quot; =
below. In other words, a packet from one protocol could potentially also re=
present a valid packet in another protocol and be replayed.<br>

Hi Thiru,
You are not precluded from using the OSPFv2 Instance ID for this purpose. H=
owever, we already have RFC 5185 to allow a single interface to be in multi=
ple areas (note that no secondary IP address is necessary):

  http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5185.txt

The primary application is supporting multiple OSPF instances using the sam=
e link. One application is OSPF Transport Instance:

  http://www.ietf.org/id/draft-ietf-ospf-transport-instance-07.txt

Thanks,
Acee

Hi OSPF group members,

Is this the objective of using Instance Id in OSPFv2.

Instance id will be used If interface having more than one addresses, so we=
need to configure different subnets in router interface (Using secondary a=
ddress cli command).

So we can connect multiple areas on single link, No need different physical=
 connection for each area.

Thanks,
Thiru

This version includes changes in response to the external reviews that have=
taken place since we completed WG last call. A few things have been clarif=
ied and the following two items have been added:

   1. Mitigation of Cross Protocol Attacks by appending a protocol specific=
byte to the key. This will prevent replay attacks when the same key is use=
d by multiple protocols (and the sets of valid input packets intercept). Se=
e sections 4.4 and 4.5.

   2. Recommendations for authentication key selection have been added to t=
he "Security Considerations". See section 6.

Links to be the new version and a nicely annotated diff with the previous v=
ersion are included in the forwarded E-mail below.

Thanks,
Acee

Of course, I meant "intersect" rather than "intercept" below. In other word=
s, a packet from one protocol could potentially also represent a valid pack=
et in another protocol and be replayed.
