A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories.
This draft is a work item of the Packet Sampling Working Group of the IETF.

Title : A Framework for Packet Selection and Reporting
	Author(s)	: N. Duffield
	Filename	: draft-ietf-psamp-framework-11.txt
	Pages : 34
	Date : 2007-5-4

This document specifies a framework for the PSAMP (Packet
SAMPling) protocol. The functions of this protocol are to select
packets from a stream according to a set of standardized
selectors, to form a stream of reports on the selected packets,
and to export the reports to a collector. This framework details the components of this architecture, then describes some generic
requirements, motivated by the dual aims of ubiquitous deployment
and utility of the reports for applications. Detailed
requirements for selection, reporting and exporting are
described, along with configuration requirements of the PSAMP
      functions.

Comments on this document should be addressed to the PSAMP
      Working Group mailing list: psamp@ops.ietf.org

To subscribe: psamp-request@ops.ietf.org, in body: subscribe
      Archive: https://ops.ietf.org/lists/psamp/

A URL for this Internet-Draft is:

To remove yourself from the I-D Announcement list, send a message to
i-d-announce-request@ietf.org with the word unsubscribe in the body of
the message.
You can also visit https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/I-D-announce
to change your subscription settings.

Internet-Drafts are also available by anonymous FTP. Login with the
username "anonymous" and a password of your e-mail address. After
logging in, type "cd internet-drafts" and then
"get draft-ietf-psamp-framework-11.txt".

A list of Internet-Drafts directories can be found in
http://www.ietf.org/shadow.html
or ftp://ftp.ietf.org/ietf/1shadow-sites.txt

Internet-Drafts can also be obtained by e-mail.

Send a message to:
	mailserv@ietf.org.
In the body type:
	"FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ietf-psamp-framework-11.txt".

NOTE:	The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
	how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.

Yes, please handle the updates as indicated by the checking tool.
It looks like pure editorial issues.
I wonder why The secretary accepted the submission. Anyway, with
a clean ID nits tool record, discussions with the IESG are easier.

Thanks,

This is an automatic reply to an email you sent to a PHP project
mailing address protected by our 'self-moderation' system. To reduce
the amount of spam received at these addresses, we require you to
confirm that you're a real person before your email will be allowed
through.

All you have to do in order to have your original message sent is
send an email to confirm@php.net with the following text (square
brackets and all):

[confirm: 0a517d54e726c5f97ea8eab18a7247bb psamp-archive@lists.ietf.org]

which you should be able to do simply by replying to this email.
(Don't worry, any leading text added for quoting will simply be
ignored.)

After we have received your confirmation, "psamp-archive@lists.ietf.org"
will be added to the list of pre-approved mail addresses for all of
the PHP project mail addresses, your original message will be
delivered, and future emails from that address will be delivered
without delay automatically.

You will not receive any confirmation of your confirmation -- your
original message (and any other messages you have sent since then)
will simply be sent to its original destination (possibly after a
short delay).

Sorry for the hassle, but the volume of unsolicited commercial email
sent to these addresses has made this step necessary.
