Attention:Your Concern

My Dear Friend,
I am Dr. Mrs. Mariam Abacha, wife to the late Nigerian Head of state, General Sani Abacha who died on the 8th of June 1998 while still on active service for our Country. I am contacting you with the hope that you will be of great assistance to me, I currently have within my reach the sum of 14.7 million U.S dollars cash which l intend to use for investment purposes outside Nigeria.

This money came as a result of a payback contract deal between my husband and a Russian firm in our country's multi-billion dollar Ajaokuta steel plant. The Russian partners returned my husbands share being the above sum after his death. Presently, the new civilian Government has intensified their probe into my husbands financial resources which has led to the freezing of all our accounts, local and foreign, the revoking of all our business licences and the arrest of my First son. In view of this I acted very fast to withdraw this money from one of our finance houses before it was closed down. I have deposited the money in a security company with the help of very loyal officials of my late husband. No record is known about this fund by the government because there is no documentation showing that we received such funds.

Due to the current situation in the country and government attitude to my family, I cannot make use of this money within, thus I seek your help in transferring this funds out of the sub-African region. Bearing in mind that you may assist me, l have decided to part with 20% of the total sum.
Please include your personal telephone and
fax numbers.

Your URGENT response is needed.

Regards,

Dr. Mrs. Mariam Abacha

Brett, the rest of the SEND WG,

We are in the last stages of RFC editing for the
SEND main draft. As a part of this the RFC editor
is doing a number of editorial modifications, we
are checking things one more time, and we also take
into account if something has come up in the meantime.

There's two semi-technical things that came up after the
draft was at the IESG. These came from Brett's review,
described in more detail at [1]. The first issue is in
text that talks about rate limitation in base ND, and
we were making a slightly incorrect statement. This
needs to be fixed as follows in Section 5.2.4:

OLD:
A large number of router solicitations may cause a higher demand
for performing asymmetric operations, although the base NDP protocol
limits the rate at which responses to solicitations can be sent.
NEW:
A large number of router solicitations may cause a higher demand
for performing asymmetric operations, although the base NDP protocol
limits the rate at which multicast responses to solicitations
    can be sent.

The second issue is a duplicated requirement in Section 8.
We already have a MUST that requires a secure/insecure flag
to be kept in different ND entries. An extra SHOULD appears
shortly after that with the same requirement. This needs
to be deleted as follows:

OLD:
The Neighbor Cache SHOULD implement a flag on entries indicating
    whether the entry is secured.
NEW:
    (Deleted)

This issue was briefly discussed when Brett brought it up
on the list, although with slightly differently formulated
text. I think the changes and the new text are straightforward.
But if you spot a problem please let us know as soon as possible.
I'd like to send a modification to the RFC editor by, say,
Wednesday evening.

Thanks,

Jari

This text looks good, but it still leaves the statement in the next
paragraph that states, "Typically, solicited advertisements are sent to
the unicast address from which the solicitation was sent". This is
contrary to the text in section 6.2.6 of RFC2461 with respect to router
solicitations which states, "A router MAY choose to unicast the response
directly to the soliciting host's address (if the solicitation's source
address is not the unspecified address), but the usual case is to
multicast the response to the all-nodes group."

A simple fix would be to replace the offending sentence with:

"Typically, solicited neighbor advertisements are sent to the unicast
address from which the solicitation was sent".

Looks fine.

Cheers,
Brett.
