Hi Behcet,

I admit that I have only skimmed the draft... As SOLACE is a new activity, I=
am unclear about the scope of the group. It seems to me that we need more d=
iscussion about what the actual problem and the use cases are, before lookin=
g into the solution space.=20
With your framework, would you say that existing IETF standards are sufficie=
nt to bootstrap smart objects, or are there missing pieces?

Will there be any meeting of SOLACE in Atlanta?

Best
Ulrich

Many people who were interested in Vancouver indicated that they won't =
come to Atlanta.
So I didn't go ahead and formulated the call for contributions I had =
planned.
But that doesn't have to stop us from having some form of gathering.
I see both Sye Loong and Behcet on the list of attendees.
Cullen is there, too, although I'm not sure he can spare time from the =
rtcweb frenzy.

Who would be available for a Sunday afternoon slot (e.g., before the =
reception)?

Many people who were interested in Vancouver indicated that they won't come=
 to Atlanta.
So I didn't go ahead and formulated the call for contributions I had planne=
d.
But that doesn't have to stop us from having some form of gathering.
I see both Sye Loong and Behcet on the list of attendees.
Cullen is there, too, although I'm not sure he can spare time from the rtcw=
eb frenzy.

Who would be available for a Sunday afternoon slot (e.g., before the recept=
ion)?

We have the NETCONF test event on Sunday. If not possible on any other =
day, I can try to make it.

Would Tuesday or Friday after the Core session an option?

Splendid idea!
By Thursday, we should have a somewhat clearer idea of what we want to =
do.

Oh, there will be no technical presentation at this point.
These 10 minutes would be about alerting the security community about =
this activity.
(See my ROLL slides from Vancouver -- =
http://www.ietf.org/proceedings/84/slides/slides-84-roll-11.pdf)

What we want to do first is=20
a) collecting more fleshed out approaches, documenting how precisely =
they work, and
b) identifying gaps in the existing standards, if any.

If we are successful in getting structure into this, then there might be
1) "system standards" that explain how to tie things together, as well =
as=20
2) potentially point activities addressing these gaps (but these will =
not be "SOLACE").
