Hi all,

As you have noticed, a new revisions of stox-im and stox-chat documents wer=
e posted a couple of weeks ago by Peter. These documents have received vari=
ous reviews over the last 8 months, and the chairs believe that the current=
versions do adequately address all issues raised so far. So, unless anyone=
thinks to the contrary or has any further issues to raise by the end of ne=
xt week (Aug 31), the plan is to move these versions to AD review.

Markus & Yana

This draft is a work item of the SIP-TO-XMPP Working Group of the IETF.

Title : Interworking between the Session Initiation Proto=
col (SIP) and the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP): Instan=
t Messaging

Abstract:
This document defines a bidirectional protocol mapping for the
exchange of single instant messages between the Session Initiation
Protocol (SIP) and the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol
   (XMPP).

Hi Ben, I've continued to think about this. I now conclude it would be
better to show the proper architecture: i.e., signalling traffic from
the XMPP side is sent to the conference focus, and groupchat media
traffic is sent to the MSRP switch. This is especially important because
in the XMPP world we don't consider groupchat messages to be "media".
Making this clear in the text, diagrams, and protocol flows will help
developers understand the differences.

I'll work these concepts into the next version of the I-D, which I hope
to work on in the next week or two.
